R-GYRINTH :THE VERTICAL PARK Resilient Hybrid Commercial Space (Co-Designed with Aditya Gupta)
KEYWORDS - Mixed use, Vertical Gardens, Labyrinth, Sustainable, Resilient. TYPOLOGY - Commercial LOCATION - Sikanderpur Metro Station, Gurugram, Haryana. SITE AREA - 8 Acres PROJECT - 6th Semester YEAR - 2021 The main objectives is to develop modes of innovation for greening places, and contribute to effective governance of social-ecological systems and long-term sustainability, based on the assumption that place-based approaches will strengthen the resilience of areas against global pressures. Resilient Places focuses on the notion of a ‘coupled’ social-ecological system which sees human society as dependent upon natural systems, while at the same time human agency acts as the driver of ecosystem dynamics.

High exposure during night: Night time pollution inside homes close to Sohna Road elevated at 850 microgramme per cubic metre. Early morning inversion condition worsens pollution impacts. During morning hours the hourly levels near Artemis, Hospital, and mid morning near Amity International School the levels were more than 738 microgramme per cubic metre. High levels in busy market areas and public transport nodes with high footfalls: The levels near Civil Hospital (Sadar Bazaar, old Gurgaon) was 580 microgramme per cubic metre around noon. In Udyog Vihar the levels in the afternoon was 550 microgramme per cubic metre. Late afternoon near MGF Mall on MG Road was 675 microgramme per cubic metre. Green and clean part of Gurgaon showed exceptionally high.

VIJF SENSES Designers Studios (Co-Designed with Ananya Khanna and Prachi Kothari)
KEYWORDS - Linear, Energatic, Open to all, Sustainable, Connectivity. TYPOLOGY - Commercial LOCATION - Pune, Maharastra SITE AREA - 750 sq meters PROJECT - Competetion YEAR - 2021
The VIJUF SENSES embodies the artistic style of Piet Mondrian into its built form and design. Taking inspiration from his abstract style of using simple geometric elements, the four main programs are divided on an abstract grid, both horizontally and vertically. It portrays the principles followed by Mondrian. The use of colors plays a significant role; Blue represents water, Green represents vegetation, Red represents balance, Yellow represents harmony and the Black Strips are portrayed by the shadow of the built form.

Arrangement of the programs are based on the various Art Movements significant during that time i.e., Cubism, Impressionism & Luminism. User enters through a sunken courtyard pavilion engulfed in water, adjoining an open stage. The pavilion aims to attract more footfall to the site and is completely shaded under an artistic shading installation. The project looks at a sustainable approach of designing by incorporating various strategies to keep the built environment naturally cool and vibrant with the use of colors, giving a nod to the art. The ground floor caters to the more public functions, Café, Courtyard and Working Studio, in order to make it more user-friendly. The first floor holds the more private functions, Designer’s Studio and Library, to ensure privacy. An Art in which the bright colors expresses the idea of the purity of belief in power of evolution, use of grid lines to express the knowledge and a combination of both forms an abstract to present the theory of spiritual power and a flexibility of its arrangement that present the smooth flow of universe along the men kind. We have tried to incorporate their theory in life.

Stack effect or chimney effect is the movement of air into and out of buildings, chimneys, flue-gas stacks, or other containers, resulting from air buoyancy. Buoyancy occurs due to a difference in indoor-to-outdoor air density resulting from temperature and moisture differences. The result is either a positive or negative buoyancy force. The greater the thermal difference and the height of the structure, the greater the buoyancy force, and thus the stack effect. The stack effect helps drive natural ventilation, air infiltration, and fires .
The wind is an important element influencing and shaping the nature, eroding the soil, transporting sediments. Architecture represents an obstacle to the wind flow, affecting the flow pattern and the speed. Among all the environmental factors that affect architecture, the wind has the greatest influence on architectural shapes, or, from the other point of view, the wind flow is greatly dependent on the precise shape of architecture.

The path is designed in such a way that all categories of users are involved in the progressive series of functions that are lined upwards i.e. cubes, seating, cafe etc., each section of public that enters is entangled in the system. The setup is absolutely designed to gain interest of each type of user, whether a user requires a public seating space or a private seating space, the various functions create an atmosphere that separates the user but still connects them to the atmosphere of the amphitheater.

The site is in the heart of bajghera village adjoining with the borders of Delhi and Haryana .it consist of many underdeveloped pieces of land with mostly agricultural land owners by various individuals and government agencies , the 120 acres site lies in TOD intense zone having a FAR upto 2.5 to 3.5 in the transational zone. The vision for the site focuses on sustainibility and smart living environment and using some digital stratigies to to enhance habitat.

TRANSIT A transit hub is introduced on the site which acts on a block level scale, promoting E-vehicular as well as pedestrian and cyclist movement. The site is also integrated with a site-specific bus route. This strategy works on the digitalization theme and falls under the policy topology. This strategy includes: Digital bus stops E-vehicular parking Smart booths – promoting digital learning and eco friendly approaches
INTERVENTIONS The intervention strategy acts on a neighbourhood scale, working under the social theme. This strategy promotes digitalization through the built typology. The interventions include: -Pavilions depicting the various strategies -E-learning school -Research centre -Offices – catering to the digital schemes implemented on site.
SUSTAINABLE HOUSING Sustainable housing caters to the people working on site. It acts on a block level under the social and environmental theme. The residential zone is distributed into four segments, each provided for a different user group namely: -Employees (Offices and Industry) -Students (School) -Workers (Pavilion and Research Centre) -Visitors – rental housing
INDUSTRIAL - PLASTIC CONVERSION PLANT

This strategy works on a city level as it would provide energy to the macro and micro site. It acts as a policy and promotes sustainable practices. This plant would safely and efficiently process non recyclable plastic, collected at the smart booths, and convert it to electricity which can be used to recharge the E-Vehicles. Using cold plasma technique, the plastic is broken down and can be used to generate electricity (Approximate 1.5 tonnes of plastic is used to generate 1kWh of electricity).
Under the Sustainability strategies, our aim is to -Recycle the plastic waste generated -Convert plastic into electricity. -Educate the population regarding this process and -Provide a space for collection of the waste as well. Our digitalisation strategy works on the transit system. We propose the use of -E-vehicles on site rather than the motor cars, to make our site a motor vehicle free zone. -Ai aids traffic control and provides alternate routes for travel. -To ensure inclusivity, it also warns the blind about in-coming traffic. -The housing society is planned around the concept of a shared digital community gathering space as well. -The VR park, located on the Dwarka Expressway edge, aims to attract people by a display of laser and holograms, reinforcing the idea of digitalisation.

The processes involve lifting and placing components into position, then connecting them together. Generally this is achieved through bolting but sometimes site welding is used. The assembled frame needs to be aligned before bolting up is completed, and the structure handed over to the principal contractor.

There are some concept based project which are prapposed and the project which are being constructed on the site . The design Breif is given by the client which includes various perameters. With this a pavillion is also designed by taking inspiration from the work of an famous architect .

“WHITE BOAT” THE EXIBITION PAVILLION
The Main ideas: Light, Color and Place. Primary center – placeness: “Would could it be that makes a space a spot.” Plain math, layered meaning of spaces and impacts of light and shade.Structures joined in scene ,Normally plans white Neo-Corbusian structures with plated boards and glass. The space is planned with essential math like cuboid stacked with one another to mirror the spatial trait of the space. It I arranged the north way so that to lit the inward climate of structure with brilliant daylight .and to diffuse the light glass boards are introduced in the upper piece of the structure to show the materialistic methodology with the aluminum outline with glass fixed in them. Sitting in the structure is enlivened by the furniture plan by Richard Meier. In which the focal space is for dissemination and the raised part is for sitting just as for strolling.

Jewellery Showroom designed for a client in M.P. with marble flooring, profile lighting, and a standing and sitting counter. The area is painted in bright golden tones. includes cnc acrylic cutting on the top of the shelfs and mirror work on the entrance. The counter is built of korean stone and has a onex marble on top to diffuse light. The highlighter is used to embellish the walls, and a cushioned chair is used to fill the area. Textile Showroom Design for a client in M.P which is being implemented on the site is built in smaller space. The budget friendly design includes the use of laminates. The walls are decoreted with the wallpaper and have glass shelves .The outer part of the showroom is made of acp sheet having alluminium framework.

Bedroom in a residential house which has been implemented on the site . The Bedroom is divided into two levels the upper level has bed and tv unit and the lower level has sitting area as well as the dresser , the use of wooden louver on the back of bed and celling connects the spaces and use dark wallpapers on the oppostive wall is to highlight the difference in both the spaces.
Praposed Bedroom Interior for a client who is a timber supplier in gurgaon . Complete Furniture is made using primary material as timber and laminates with polish on them . The space is designed using two primary tones as Red and Yellow to put more emphasis on the furniture.

The main objective is to explore different materials and their properties and to make a furniture or kiosk from them . So the kiosk designed is an exibition space which is rectratable and the partition wall is a kind of portable furniture which can be fitted into any space. The sitting bench is a part of outdoor furniture which is made of timber using different joints

This kiosk design was built while optimally considering the various space specifications, locational backdrops, client requirements on the basis of products it might have to fulfill. This versatility can be efficiently displayed by the OPTIMUM SPACE UTILIZATION through a retractable metal frame which allows the client to choose any desired size of the kiosk ranging from 2.5m*2.5m to 5.0m*2.5m. Its abstract design allows it to please a very wide range of aesthetic choices. The composition of the mirrors provide an engaging space for customers and also might fulfill certain business requirements.

A temporary exhibition space which can be configured in multiple ways to allow 10-15 visitors to experience the kiosk at the same time. The retractable feature of the kiosk is made possible by sliding metal floor plates one on top of the other. Along with the floor plates, the hanging storage shelves which contract by scissormechanism and the acrylic sheet seating are some of the remarkable components. The design of the kiosk is such that it can be perfectly suited for any type of closed or semi-open locations. The transparent acrylic sheet allows the kiosk to efficiently use any natural light available in open locations. The semi-open nature of the kiosk provides a perfect balance between being amongst nature and being in a shaded built space.

PARTITION WALL
Design Brief The Partition Wall is designed to creat an obstruction between the twoo spaces or to break any single space . The concept is to break the visibility into three levels going from left to right the number of openings gets decreased with the centre boxes which are book shelves . The frame work of the partition is made of 18 mm plyboard where as the designed part or jalies are made of 12 mm wbc boards with cnc cutting on them . Various joints are also incorporated in the partition such as Finger joints for frame , Mortise and tennon Joint , Tongue and Groove joint.
THE WOODEN BENCH

The Timber bench is a multipurpose furniture with four way sitting and a raised centre green patch which can also be used as table or for sitting . The frame of the Furniture is tied using various joints and the wooden boards are nailed on them . The empty spaces in the corner are for planters which make it sustainable also . To make is asthetically more beautiful the Jalies were used in the inner edges which are made of acrylic.

Music and architecture have a significant relation with each other and is a topic that has being analysed since ancient periods till present day. From ancient Greek’s Parthenon to modern day contemporary structure such as Stretto House by Steven Holl shows how music can be transformed into architecture and in turn create their own space of harmony or stretto note as such in the case of above examples .Throughout history, many identical things have been made concerning music and architecture “along the narrow channels of interaction number, rhythm, notation and proportion”.”

SCOPE With this quick age everybody needs to live calmly in his own fantasy house. also, the effect of melodic industry is immense on the current age numerous individuals see music as a method of unwinding and considering the current Coronavirus pandemic circumstance it is essential for everybody to be positive, mollusc, cheerful. furthermore, for this design space should have comparative inclination in them as per singular most loved disposition or melodies. A space is planned where he feels quiet, protected, glad and can ingest every one of the uplifting tones. henceforth changing over music enlivened spaces brings about certain development of the crowd.
METHODOLOGY In the process of architecture and music creation, conceptual foundation utilities and tools are inseparable from each other and it is in separating them from each other that architecture and music separations and links can be identified. • Understanding basic principle of architecture and music and similarity between them • Researching relation between golden ratio in architecture and music. • Finalising the music or any songs according to their pitch, tones etc to link it with golden ration perfectly. • Detailing out the component of song or music like its lyrics, tones, melody. • Creating mathematical grids out of the chorus and verses in the song . • Understanding how golden ratio can also be used to form any 3d form by making equation out of it. • Equating golden ratio from both the equation and relating music to architecture. 1. Lingual Analogy: Special emphasis will be been laid on the literature study required for one to understand the true power of music over architecture. First part would consist of the understanding that is to be given to know the metaphorical understanding of music in architecture through lingual analogy. By exploring the seam between music and architecture and its metaphorical representation within the built environment, new modes of formal translation and a new paradigm of musical space can be Identified which is the aim of the dissertation.
2. Object of Beauty: The study will continue on to discussion on the topic of creation. The history of creation is given an understanding; the history in which man has been striving to attain natural beauty is made known. Plato’s works are taken for understanding about the creation through the topic of Divine Creation of God: The Universe. Further on the topic of creation in architecture and music is understood. How architecture and music share same bonds will be noted and analysed.
3. Harmony: The next part would consist of the study on harmony as harmony lays the best example in the understanding of the deep bond shared between architecture and music. Beginning with nature and it’s play of harmony, one is given an understanding that harmony played as the basis in ancient world.
4. Proportion: After understanding the role of harmony, next step would be to understand proportions in creation. How a set of integers (Fibonacci Series) rule the creation process of leading to harmonious environment is understood? Its importance and the part it has played in the forming harmonious properties of any work of art are well illustrated. By here one will understand how proportions play the major role in the linking of music into architecture. Analysing historically, many examples can be seen that applies harmonious proportions. One by then can easily interpret the presence of proportions in process of creation. Also, in order for understanding the beginnings of proportions is understood through the works of Pythagoras.
5. Time Intervals: The detailed study of literature in Music, nature and existence points out ‘Time’ as essential factor that has become the prime driving force in the conversion process of music to architecture.
TRANSLATION PROCESS The idea is to take these sequential growth patterns and proportion of a song and harmonically divide them into architectural spaces to form a unified architecturally composition that aurally feels like the song. Just like Fibonacci sequence has harmonious growth pattern based on an algorithm as shown below, similarly these songs also root from mathematical derived equation. I have attempted to use the mathematics of the song to translate it into a graphical module of grids which could be further used to device a proportioning system of façade and an architectural 3d forms. There exist many buildings that are based on the golden ratio geometry, similarly there could be buildings that could exist based on the mathematical geometry composition as well.
Step 1 – Grid Derivation Derive the vertical and horizontal grids of the song and highlight the point where the bridge starts and the song ends. Step 2 – The next step is to superimpose the verticals and horizontal to formulate a proportionate grid of the song as shown below-
Step 3 -Marking out identical pattern Once we have tabulated a grid system, the next step would be to colour/ pattern code identical space in the grid pattern. in the below example I have colour coded identical spaces for the song “closer”. golden bridge relation = 1.6

From the above examples, we understand that by breaking down the mathematical structure of a song and by formulating a sequential grid for it, we may attempt to translate the mathematics of it to design a `façade, 3d forms, landscape etc. We also understand that the song with the mathematical findings of golden ratio have a uniform and regular defined grid compared to songs which exceed the value of phi. the difference can be seen visually in the 2d graphic façade module in the comparison chart. The scope of this dissertation is limited to basic 3rd architectural form that could be further used to design various architecture and design element
