Reflexive Pronouns Reflexive Pronoun คือ คำำสรรพนำมทีม ่ ี ควำมหมำยเชิงสะท ้อนกลับไปหำประธำนของประโยคซึง่ เป็ นผู ้กระทำำเหตุกำรณ์นัน ้ ด ้วยตนเอง คำำสรรพนำมนีถ ้ ้ำเป็ นเอกพจน์จะลงท ้ำยด ้วย –self และถ ้ำเป็ นพหูพจน์จะ ลงท ้ำยด ้วย –selves
หล ักการใช ้ Reflexive Pronoun มีด ังนี้ ใช ้ในกรณีท ี่ผลการกระทำาสะท้อนไปหาประธาน (subject) - She cuts herself while cooking.
(เธอทำำมีดบำดตัวเองขณะทำำอำหำร)
- I see myself in a mirror.
(ฉั นมองเห็นตัวเองในกระจก)
ใช ้เมือ ่ ต ้องกำรเน้นประธาน (subject) หรือ กรรม (object) - Peter himself cuts the glass once a week.
(ปี เตอร์ตัดหญ ้ำเองสัปดำห์ละครัง้ ) (เน ้นประธำน)
- I met Ann herself yesterday.
(ฉั นได ้พบแอนเมือ ่ วำนนี้) (เน ้นกรรม)
ใช ้ในควำมหมำยว่ำ “ตามลำาพ ัง” เมือ ่ วำงไว ้หล ัง “by” - He built his house by himself.
(เขำสร ้ำงบ ้ำนด ้วยตัวเองลำำพัง)
- They make sandwiches by themselves.
(พวกเขำต่ำงทำำแซนด์วซ ิ ด ้วยตัวเอง)
