The smog problem is more and more serious while people are losing confidence in the urban environment. Electric vehicles are environmentally friendly, but the diffusion of EV is not going well because people have not understood the advantages of EV. If EV can be linked with solving the smog problem, people who suffer from the poor effects of smog will take EV into account when purchasing a ride.

According to research, building a private charging station is extremely difficult for Tesla drivers. Only a few people can succeed due to the complexities involved and the wide variety of department needs. The expansion of Tesla China depends on the conditions of the community. Not all parking areas can be built with charging stations. Viability depends on the distance between the parking and the electric wire.
Tesla provides equipment free of charge. However, the consumer must hire a professional to install it.

THE HISTORY MAP
INTERVIEW FINDINGS
According to the history map, the political and economic circumstances in China are friendly to Tesla Motors these years. Besides, the environmental problems such as smog are more and more serious but people have not realized that EV can help solve the smog problem.
After analysing the history map, I chose the environmental problem as a breakthrough. And I interviewed people who are living in Beijing where the smog problem is very serious, in order to explore their deepest thoughts.

BIO Since he graduated from university, Wu Qiang has been living in Beijing for 5 years. He has chronic pharyngitis and is sensitive to smog. As a young employee in an internet company, Wu pays a lot of attention to his quality of life. He jogs every morning and often goes to the gym on the weekends. Sometimes he goes to a cafe to relax and read. He also likes hiking, photography and camping. In addition, Wu is interested in electronic products and creative things, and follows their development online.
“I want to know the specific measures that the government is taking .”
Smog makes me upset when I am jogging -Morning jogging is good for my health and I want to keep in shape by jogging. -The smog makes the road unclear and hurts my throat. Maybe jogging in smog will damage my respiratory system and I do not know if I should continue the habit.
I'm not sure some measures have been taken -The government has claimed to try its best to solve the smog problem many times in recent years, but I cannot see any practical effect in my daily life. -I want to know the specific measures that the government is taking or if there are some other groups working on the problem.
I do not know if the air problem will be solved -The air problem has yet to be solved and there is still plenty of smog. I’ve lost confidence in conditions getting better. Maybe the problem will never be solved.
IDEATE
THE CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT After analysis, it is a good idea to build a smog monument which can show the contribution made by Tesla EV to solving the smog problem. EV
With the synonym such as lower noise, zero emission and higher energy efficiency, electric vehicles are environmentally friendly. It is reasonable to link EV to solving the smog problem which is doing harm to people's physical fitness as well as their confidence in the environment.
Lim dri ited ve rs EV
To boost people's confidence in the environment, nothing is more direct than visible effect of environmental enhancement. Visible effect can bring hope and consolation to people so that they will be inspired and firmly believe that the smog problem will be solved.
When persuaded that EV can help solve the smog problem, people who are suferring smog will prefer EV as their new rides. As soon as electric vehicles diffuse to the consuming public, the vicious cycle of building charging stations will be broken.

DESCRIPITION
EV is an innovation, however, the public needs a process to know and accept it. It is through which an individual passes from first knowledge of an innovation, to forming an attitude toward the innovation, to a desicion to adopt or reject, to implementation of the new idea, and to confirmation of this decision.

Collect informations from all the EV chargers around the city and transform them into datas on the glass screen of the smog monument. To take "Tesla Model S 60kWh" as an example. It can run 400 kilometers with the full electric energy of 60kWh. That is to say the 100-kilometer electric energy consumption of Model S is 15kWh. If the fuel vehicle of almost equal quality spends 10.5L for 100 kilometers, a fullenergy Model S can save petrol of 42L for 400 kilometers. According to the National Exhaust Standard for automobile pollution, every fuel vehicle is allowed to exhaust: CO 815.13g/100km NOx 1340.44g/100km CnHn 134.04g/100km PM 4.5g/100km We can estimate that the PM reduction of a full-energy Model S is 18g. According to the annual environment bulletin of 2013, the total PM discharge in Beijing area is 6.67×104 tons. The time of blue sky extension in Beijing is: 18g 6.67×1010 g 365×24×60×60s
= 0.0085s
Also, CO and NOx can turn to a lot of PM , and some research data indicates that the emission load of PM from vehicles accounts for 58% of PM in Beijing. If all of fuel vehicles are replaced with electric vehicles, people in Beijing will not suffer smog at least 6 months every year.
These E-HAZEs are distributed around the city and send out light beams at night. These light beams which can be seen far away can give confidence and consolation to citizens that there are some groups, like Tesla, are striving for the smog problem.
“Hmm…We should think about an electric vehicle, It might be our next option.”
“Look! Electric vehicles can reduce PM 2.5.”
“I have scheduled a test drive of Tesla.”

The increasing number of stray animals has become a serious problem for cities while most animal shelters in China lack stable financial support or effective management, which leads to low adoption rates There is an opportunity to increase the profit of animal shelters and pull down the rates of animal euthanasia through changing the operation mode and enriching the service forms. And then the problem of stray animals in cities will be solved.
EXPERIENCE MAP In order to know about the environment of animal shelters, I volunteered in Hangzhou Animal Shelter for one month. During this time, I researched their working conditions, service mode and the management situation. Also, I interviewed some visitors to know more about their thinking and feeling.

Wang often goes downstairs to feed stray cats near his house. Sometimes he also wants to have his own pet, so he researches ways to get a pet by browsing the web or talking with friends.

I need someone to feed the pet when busy I want to have a pet. My roommate seems to dislike animals, although he didn’t reject my idea of having a pet. I am afraid that I cannot take good care of a pet when I am very busy in the laboratory.
Wang thinks it is more feasible to adopt a pet, rather than buy one because it’s too expensive for a student. However, he finds the adoption process is very complex and adopters have to provide a lot of private information to the animal shelter.
Effective and easy process Reasonable price Privacy protection
Wang browses many pet sites and blogs to learn how to get a pet easily. He also calls the local animal shelters to ask if they could provide more effective services.
Hear
It is troublesome to take care of a pet. It is a heavy responsibility to keep a pet. The adoption process is too complex. I must ponder my roommates' feelings.
Pets are the best friends of human. Pets can help relieve the pressure. It is not feasible for you to keep a pet. You do not have enough space or time.
Say I love little animals. I must think it over before keeping a pet.
The process takes too much time The process of adoption is too tedious for me to complete because I do not have so much free time. The animal shelter is far away and it is inconvenient for me to get there and ship the animal by myself because I do not have my own car.
I value privacy a lot I feel uncomfortable to allow strangers to get into my flat and look around. Maybe it will bring potential safety hazard to me. I think the home visit is an invasion of privacy.
When chatting with his roommates and the landlord, Wang finds they heavily dislike pets. Also, they do not think Wang will take good care of a pet because he is not able to provide enough space or time, which may lead to sanitation or safety problems in the flat.

Wang doubts if it is feasible to keep a pet in his renting flat. He also begins to look for places where there are pet activities by browsing pet sites and talking with friends.

Design for autistic children Personal project Product design / Interactive design / Arduino For most autistic children, learning math troubles their parents a lot because it is difficult to help their children equate abstract numbers with real objects. Many autistic children cannot learn how to count. An interactive initiation toy will stimulate children's interest in learning to count. Children can play with MAGIC BOX by themselves after simple guidance from their parents and they are able to establish a relationship between abstract numbers and real objects when they play.
THE PRESENT SITUATION OF AUTISTIC CHILDREN IN CHINA
INTRODUCTION OF AUTISM Autism is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by impaired social interaction, verbal and non-verbal communication, and restricted and repetitive behavior. Parents usually notice signs in the first two years of their child's life. These signs often develop gradually, though some children with autism reach their development milestones at a normal pace and then regress.
Number in China 1/100
There are more than 10 million autistic children in China (the incidence rate is about 1%)
CHARACTERISTICS Social development People with autism have social impairments and often lack the intuition about others that many people take for granted. Communication Differences in communication may be present from the first year of life, and may include delayed onset of babbling, unusual gestures, diminished responsiveness, and vocal patterns that are not synchronized with the caregiver. Repetitive behaviour Stereotyped behaviours, compulsive behaviours, ritualistic behaviours and self-injury.

Assemble the cut wooden boards together and link up the weight sensors and LED lights to the Arduino Mega 2560 through the bread board and DuPont lines.
Debug the program and do a pressure test for every weight sensor. Test if there is the correct relationship between sticks, weight sensors and LED lights.
void loop() { for(int i = 0; i < 9; i++ ) { if( LED_STATE[i] == 1 ) { digitalWrite(My_LED[i], HIGH); } else { digitalWrite(My_LED[i], LOW); } } delay(100);
The LED lights will light up when there are the right number of sticks in the keg. The LED lights are linked to the corresponding weight sensor.
Two little assistants helped me to test the toy. They were able to play with it after simple guidance.
for(int i = 0; i < 9; i++) { HX711_SCK = My_HX711_SCK[i]; HX711_DT = My_HX711_DT[i]; My_Weight_Shiwu[i] = Get_Weight(i); if( Flag_Error == 1 ) { LED_STATE[i] = 1; } else { if( My_Weight_Shiwu[i] >= 2.5 + 5 * i && My_Weight_Shiwu[i] <= 7.5 + 5 * i) { LED_STATE[i] = 0; } else { LED_STATE[i] = 1; } } } }

EASY-CUTTER
2013 SUN BEIBEI
Design for architects Personal project Product design During architectural design courses, students have to make a lot of mock-ups before producing the final in-depth one. However, when cutting materials, square cuts are not suitable for all kinds of these models. If the knife is rotatable, it can cut materials at different angles so that the cut section can be controlled into different angles to adapt to different kinds of models.
INTRODUCTION
PROBLEM STATEMENT
During the course of architectural design, students should make a lot of mockups before the final formal model. The main model materials contain foam board, cork wood, card paper and PVC board. These materials are easy to cut and suitable for quick-built mock-ups which are used to consider the architectural space and modify the architectural formalization.
If the cutting obliquity and the moving direction of the knife can be controlled, the material sections will meet the demands of the design students. The cut section of the wood board cannot maintain levelness, so they cannot fit closely to another wood board.
At present, when cutting materials, we need to press and fix the ruler while moving the knife. It is difficult to make the cutting trace as expected because the blade is easily influenced by the textures of these materials. MODEL 1
PROBLEM
The ordinary knife is not able to cut material at the given angle. When making models with sloping roofs, it is hard to glue the oblique boards together.

CITY ART CENTER Design for art promotion Group project (Core designer) Architecture design
The surrounding environment of the design building site is complex and crowded, so that the big problem is a severe lack of public activity space that would allow people to communicate and relax. Also, the rich and colourful history of handicrafts is not demonstrated to tourists well. A city art center with strong openness, eye-catching quality and interaction is suitable for this area. People can relax and communicate with others in the public space while view and admire exhibits. Also, visitors can learn how to make simple handicrafts in this area , which is good for spreading traditional culture.

ENVIRONMENT INVESTIGATION
TRADITIONAL AND MODERN HANDICRAFTS IN HANGZHOU The surrounding environment is very complex. The populations of permanent residents and visitors are both substantial and this area combines Hangzhou’s past and the present. However, there is not enough space for people to relax or do activities. Therefore, I think an open, eye-catching city art center would be great for this area. According to the history of Hangzhou, I designated handicrafts as the theme for the center. It should contain traditional and modern handicrafts and provide visitors with opportunities to make handicrafts themselves.

Overall Design
By architecturally reconfiguring the space, build two open courtyards to create public activity spaces. They can meet the needs of both permanent residents and visitors, providing them with opportunities for activity and communication.
Break up the elongated shapes of the building by cutting it into several sections, reducing its weight and making it conform more to the texture of the surrounding city. Divide the two courtyards into geometric shapes.
Change the flat roof into a folded style to add more dimensions to the building. Choose different themes for the courtyards, one focusing on handicraft displays and the other focusing on interaction.
The common border of indoor and outdoor areas There are public exhibits in the showcases built into walls. Tourists and local residents can appreciate these public exhibits when they are relaxing and playing in the public courtyards.
Outdoor DIY space There are simply materials, like bamboo canes and clay, on the tables of the outdoor DIY space. People can make simple handicrafts sitting at the tables and communicate with others.
