As your newest writer here at 08742 Living, I wanted to start out with sharing some scoop…..”How did I get here?” Growing up here, I enjoyed everything the Jersey Shore had to offer; boating to Barnegat Lighthouse, walking the Seaside Boardwalk, Six Flags trips, etc. We have always had the best of both worlds, whether we wanted to jump on a train to NYC for a show or take the parkway south for dinner in Atlantic City. I absolutely love NJ!

Point Pleasant is called home for my family and what an incredible community it is! My teenager is just one of the hundreds of children taking advantage of the great schools, recreation center, various parks, and beaches. What a lifestyle! Professionally, I’ve spent the last twenty years learning different industries, developing businesses, leading sales teams, exceeding goals, and continuous learning to add value in my career. Regardless of what title Ive held, I have always had the most incredible passion for client relationships. Working with small business owners and entrepreneurs has been the most rewarding element in my various roles. When you are truly supporting American Dreams and fueling businesses that give back to the community, you’re constantly inspired. Thriving in the Real Estate industry has been a dream come true! Not only am I able to channel my love for marketing, sales, and real estate, I meet amazing families and business owners every single day!

In my role as a local expert, there are some frequently asked questions that I thought I’d share...

What local restaurants would you recommend?

As a foodie myself, I enjoy the entire package when dining…fresh ingredients, romantic ambiance, and most importantly the dessert menu. Two sit at the top of my list, Spanos Italian Ristorante downtown Point Pleasant Beach (the owner is the chef and he visits your table to be sure you’re nothing but satisfied) and Shipwreck Grill in Brielle. You will not be disappointed at either place!

Which small businesses do you frequent often?

I absolutely love a smiling face, enthusiastic demeanor, and amazing service. You can find that at these places in the local area; The Country Bakery offers incredible custom baked goods, Divi Tree Coffee serves up amazing lattes and the Colonial Market is a convenient grocery store to find fresh local veggies and a butcher.

What do you recommend for kids in the area?

If you haven’t visited Riverfront Park, add it to your To Do List! If you’ve lived in the area for awhile you already know the Point Pleasant Hospital used to be located here. Not only is this park waterfront, it offers a beach (season badges are available), a pier for fishing, a track for exercise, and a playground for the children. It’s a great place to pack your dinner and a blanket to have a waterfront picnic. I’m looking forward to sharing “Catching Up with Christen” real estate news, local events, small business features, lifestyle and motherhood with you.
