The low energy program
This project is a housing for people in all age, the requirement is min. 50 units with 3 type of room types, such as studio flat, single bed and double bed. This project is located at center of old town. It had been strongly separated by the city grid system, away from the other estate and living area. To re-link this old urban space the current city flow is my core vision of this project. It help the people who living in my building also with the neighborhood.

Site Context - Tai Po, one of the early developed town in Hong Kong. The Tai Po Old Market station was the meeting point of the main market of north of old Hong Kong when the Hong Kong cities development was started. As the time pass and the new town, station has been developed, this old market is still running very strong. But there is no population move over there, it is getting older and the younger are not using it anymore. District development diagram

A SELF SUPPORTING SOCIETY Data from 2011, Census Results report, HKSAR
As the one of the oldest town in Hong Kong, there are different density residential area in this district. There are different classes of Hong Kong residents who maybe the new immigrants, the second or third generation of immigrants or the originals of Hong Kong. They have different career form and mostly work out of town including the both parents and left children and elderly in this small old town. They are having very different community bonding in town.

As arm to stronger the connectivities, I wanted to strategically merge the elderly and younger generation. They look after each others and share the activities like the old time. Once the space and politically allow and permit they occupation such as the traditional culture work in the public space, which mean more community activities are allowed and possibilities for our city. Then the clan grow up as the pass.

In the current society
The space of local people life are divided into indoor and outdoor, building and, street. It is very dierent from our memories, specially on the elderly. They will only meet the others on the street, restaurant or shopping mall, which is not very welcome for the lower movability people. Therefore, the elderly are getting less care,except from family and social workers. So I want to transfer the street, landscape and building into a FOLDING VILLAGE. By creating the semi-translucence wall of dwelling and opening and sharing space surrounding the house. The Elderly will have a better ventilation and lighting condition, also the activities space. I will call it - the FIREFLIES HOUSE.

Walls and ceilings with a double membrane, the air conditioning and energy saving air conditioners, in order to improve the insulation performance In order to improve the heat insulating effect of the building of the warm air circulating in the double membrane wall, results in energy savings. 3. Installing windows and velcro endometrium, simplifying replacement parts, can be easily replaced, also simplifies the replacement of insulation.

The FLOWER MARKET will seeks to be a vibrant city center, allowing the neighborhood to gather in the FLOWER MARKET during different time of the day. Trading businessman can visit the market during the day time to buy flesh flowers, while housewives can pick up fresh flowers to decorate their homes. The FLOWER MARKET is also a great place for the public over the weekends. Young couples can spend weekends wandering around the FLOWER MARKET and enjoying a nice meal in the city center. Families can spend some time in the FLOWER HOTEL

Evening, dazzling night During special occasion, the flower market can be converted into a special stage for traditional celebration, where walkways can be used for different events and the beautiful outlook of the architecture as background for fireworks.
The Flower suppliers will transfer the flowers to minor level by ramp and load up the flowers at minor level. This circulation system across the site from north to south. This minor level will be connected to the city subway system. Flower market center is one of the crossing point of the city.

The Void between
I picked up the site at the midden of trail. Along the trail, this location is growth with a lot of tall trees and great slope. Outside those threes, we can see the whole view of Tai Po town. And there is a small steam pass thought. This site could be a very nice space for hiker resting and stay overnight for their trip.

Play with the trees
Within those trees, I capture the negative space of it and try to made use of this space. The space is formed by the slope, trees and natural sound. The Hut is design to be constructed by steel structure. Due to the location away from city and construction materials must be carriable by men power.

Secondly, the concept of roof and floor system are constructed by the corroborated metal sheet and truss system. The truss system of floor system can allows longer the spend of steel structure, which can reduce 4 the transportation need of construction.

The ARCHITECTURAL CENTER between Cities
The building is named , St. Francis Street. It is a 80’s high-end residential area in the Hong Kong old town, Wan Chai. As the time pass, the neighbor town, Admiralty, was been developed into the CBD of Hong Kong. In 21s, the town development had been shifted to Wan Chai, one of the oldest district of Hong Kong. It recorded lots of Hong Kong urban development history and transformation changing in this moment. This project is located at the center of the St. Francis Street, the edge between two cities.

By find out the nature of the architecture center and the need of urban space, it is easy to be find out that the whole urban could be a gathering space of this area. It is ready for transform to any activity space of people need.
By comparing the 2 diagrams above, there are different type of services and activity for two independent groups of people, resistance and visitors/office clerks. The daily office clerks occupied the day time and the resistance and visitor enjoy the happy hour at the night time. It allowed the different restaurants survived in this historical town and lot of potential high-end product shops started up over here. A unique cultural space was weaved by those people and urban space.
A large architectural space
A iconic object is a evolution direction of the small town to record, transform and distribute the culture. I believe it is the duty of the architecture in here. A floating platform is a state for the event city. It is a very large negative space for people living in this town, a upper street space. And it is a solid statement of architecture to superimpose with the urban contents. It is the image of urban architecture.

Site and Location This project is located at Yantai, Shandong. This area were started to be developed into the china WINE sources, including lots of international company. The Client was based on personal interest and investment to develop one of this area. I was joined at early 2015 when the building was completed the main concrete structure and started the secondary structure and design stage.
Program This is a 35,000 sq. ft architecture including 20,000 sq. ft Wine Factory and 15,000 sq. st. Villa area for his own family. This project will be completed at early 2017 and interior and landscape construction on the coming stage.

Building Orientation Concept
Concept development Since the site is located at the top of hill, surrounded by the vineyard. The green is 360 and the Main view is from the river at north-eastern part. The building is based on 3 functions for each peruse and lighting requirements. We are surrounded by the very nice view. In case to arrange the building by use. We arranged the building as a sector form to frame each unique view by the division walls. Site condition

Wine Making / Gravity Flow Wine Making Step
This strategy will create the identification of each room and form a natural form. Also the guest will be visually controlled to focus on the view . The lighting is also controlled at south and west part since the factory is required a stable temperature at September. Based on the site condition, the factory is facing the north to control the day-light and private villa is facing the east to enhance the best view.
Masses will be inject into the tanks after packing and destimer. Fermentation

The Juice will be stored in Tanks at 5 -8 degree for 5 months and become the wine. Then it will be get into a large tank for mixing and adjust.

Bottling Finally wine will be pass through filtration and bottling to market. Storing Some of the wine will be storaged into barrel for absorb the taste.

The wine making is required less mechanical contact and massive juice movement. Therefore, a wine making method is called Gravity flow. By the above working step to reduce the pumping work to reduce the energy use and wine movement.
