CRYSTALIZE
Size: 12x4x4cm Year: 2011 Adviser: Chor Kheng Lim Nowadays people live a fast and stressful life. Many people suffer from insomnia including me.
The world under the sea always attracts me – a no gravity and
peaceful world, so I designed this lamp that referred to the atmosphere from the world under the sea which helps users to relax and forget the daytime stress.
MODEL ANALYZE The shape of the lamp was referenced to the two main components of ocean ─ water molecule and Salty crystallization.
I analyzed the differenences between them
MOLECULES
The molecules are compose by the Pentagon, this shap's struture is very solid.
SALTY CRYSTALIZATIONS
After analyze the looks of molecules and Salty crystallizations, the Salty crystallizations are more diversify, and the translucent structure is very charming, and suits the lamb characteristic. In the process of Salty crystallizationS. the impurities, temperature, evaporate speed.....ext all these facts create different shapes, so Salty crystallizations have various looks.
I try different shaps to find out what model will suit Salty crystallization
looks.
Finally i desiced three models to analyze.

PATTERN ANALYZE
To make the light creat Watermark shadow, I
find 3 diffrent types watermark pictures and compare which one has best effect, than transform the picture to line, and cut the line to make shadow tests.

The watermark diffusion from the center, shadow is soft but not clear.
The current is swift,watermark and shadow is very clear.
The current is slow, and the shadow is blurred.
INTERNAL ORGANIZE
Salty crystallizations have divers looks, and compose different shapes according to different environments. Base on this various characteristic, I put magnet in each unit (red spot are magnet position), so users can create combination as they like.
Light blue is positive electrode, navy blue is negative electrode, so only
diffrent color have attraction.
LIGHTS WILL TURN ON WHEN THE UNIT COMBINE Each unit has a LED light,positive electrode connects to battery,negative electrode connects to thin iron sheet. I use the magnet as a switch. When combining units, the magnet attraction will perss the thin iron sheet and connect the negative electrode to make power on.

CRYSTALIZE HOME
The crystalized light can be put on the wall if user like. The wall shape refer to sea wave, and wall material is iron, so the crystalized lights which attach magnet can be put at any place of the wall.
Second,use grinder to gronud the uneven edge.
Then use hummered at tagger to smoothen.
The crystalized wall can apply to the passage of the underground , the hotel, and the restaurant. It not only creates relax atmosphere but also beautified environment. it can also apply to concaves that enhance echo.

Size: 130X110cm year: 2012 Adviser: Hui jong Hsieh A society controlled by news ratings. We all know that news reports remain neutral, holding no bias so that viewers can make their own interpretation and understanding. It allows society to learn of current issues, seeking different ways of resolution. Taiwan is the world’s most competitive country in media and news. Under this intense environment, living up to audience satisfaction is essential. In order to meet demands, the truthfulness of the news report no longer becomes vital. Rather the flavour and results that can be stirred become the focus point. Soon enough, the media has commercialized itself into a business industry. News reports play an important role in our day to day living, as they can manipulate what people see, hear and believe. Shallow reports can influence the behaviour of the community. Unfortunately, this is the trend found in Taiwan, representing a cultural and societal problem. I create 3 seires of painting to convey my concept.
LAUGHING BROTHER I have created a comical character – the laughing brother. He approaches situations from a third person perspective, and is able to analyze events from a neutral point of view. His unbiased facial expression reflects a performer without ways of thinking, ironically also reflects our societal issue towards news and the media. I also have collected roughly half a year’s worth of news clips, turning them into image. Through image, we can directly see the commonality between different subjects, and from what I have observed, Taiwan’s news media is in a ridiculous situation. It acts as a culture, defining Taiwan and its people. Similar to the wordings that we see in news clips, we have been controlled and convinced by what we hear and see on TV.

I Used wood slats and lights to make three light boxes to present my three series of painting. And I edited newsreel to broadcast in the exhibition room. This way, I created sound and light in my exhibition room. So the visitors could feel different atmosphere. This presentation way conveyed my concept more strongly.

for an activity when I was doing an intern at a
company. The goal of this activity was to arouse people's concern and expectation about this city (Taipei). The first part was Jenga competition. When the participant playing the blocks, they will notice that every block engraved many vocabularies about the city, these vocabularies symbolize
everybody's expectation about this city. In the same time
having fun, the participants also piling up their expectation. After the competition, there were many creative shop owners sharing their opinions of the city, and how to improve, to stimulate more new ideas. This activity is full of energy and creativity, so I used bright colors and concise lines to feature a everyday life in Taipei city.

OUR WALL Size: 729x274cm Year: 2012 I designed this wall for our graduation exhibition. Yellow head symbol that we are different form others and special. The long strip of the presentation is also served as an exhibition route guidance.

Size: 20x24cm Year: 2012 I designed this series of patterns for the cover of notebooks. From a distance, the patterns look like a flower, but these are composed by different mechanical parts. The concept is that, a lot of things in our life, even the most simple, the most pure things are often manually modified. Flower represents our soul, parts like memories that be locked up one by one, until we forget our original soul.

Size: 500x80x60cm Year: 2011 Adviser: Kuanhua Chen Taiwan was once has a reputation as a kingdom of butterflies. On this relatively small island, there nearly

species
are
of butterflies. However, due to the pollution, the population of butterfly is decline,
therefore, our team built a five meters tall tower inspire from this beautiful creature, tower shape refer to butterfly shape. Use transparent pipes to capture butterfly's elegance, graceful feature. It is a teamwork, and each step required all the team members to contribute, because the tubes were too long for one person to operated, therefore we worked togather to size each tube, cut the tubes, and then tied them with twines.

Skeletons are the main structure, when skeletons are supporting, they balance each other and creat beautiful appearance.
DANDELION
Size: 70x30x50cm year: 2011 Adviser: Chor Kheng Lim This Interactive installment adds a sense of vitality and fun to campus corridor. This idea is inspired by dandelions' characteristic : easily bolwn away by wind. This was a teamwork, and there were five people in my team. We brainstromed this concept together. My contribution was drawing Auto Cad, making wood frame, making trangle units and making presentation poster.

5. Assemble triangle units, lines, engine and infrared sensors on wood frames. Infrared sensors have a receiver and a transmitter. The receiver was attached on wood frame and the transmitter was on the opposite side of the receiver. Formula would strat the engine to rotate when receiver couldn'r detect infrared waves. Therefore, when people pass by, the infrared wave is blocked out, so the receiver can't detect infrared waves and start engine to rotate.
6. When engine rotating, outer part of triangle units start moving in order. Because they were connected with engine by different length of lines which control the moving order. Shortest line will be moved first then second shortest line, and so on.

Most cases of lung cancer death, close to 90% in men, and 80% in women are caused by cigarette smoking. Smoking damages the natural cleaning and repairing system of smoker's lung and traps cance causing chemicals in their lungs. This ashtray purpose is to remind somkers that their lung is damaging while smoking.
EXTERIOR To remind the smoker smoking is bad for their lung. The model was transferred from lung shape. Using overlap and somplified method to creat the finall exterior apperance.
INTERIOR There are three LED lights in the ashtray. When the smoker extinguish a cigarette, the light will be turned off one by one, meaming the lung condition is deteriorating. Besides, when extinguishing a cigertte, the pushing down pressure will make the ashtray move as if it was alive.

There is a hot snesor on the top where to extinguish a cigarette. When a smoker extinguishes the cigarette, the hot sensor detects the changing of the temperture and makes the light turn off one by one.

Inside the ashtray, there are pipes to hide the wires. and a spring to make the ashtray flexible. When a smoker extinguishes a cigarette on this ashtray, the pressure will make ashtray moving up and down.
