delivering engineering excellence
welcome I am pleased to update you on some major changes that are happening at Integral in the near future. The first, which you may have seen already in some of our offices, is that we are changing our strap-line from “Maintaining Your Building” to “Delivering Engineering Excellence”.
Why have we done this?
The majority of our clients, whether they purchase services through a Total Facilities Management route including Cleaning, Security and Catering, or purchase these service streams direct, realise that it is the Mechanical and Electrical services continuity that allows them to operate their business. Without power, heating or cooling few companies can function. We are the largest independently owned Mechanical and Electrical maintenance business. It is important that we play to this strength. We therefore believe that “Delivering Engineering Excellence” better reflects our position. We have made a massive investment in new technology, both in our new CAFM system ‘Maximo’ which is currently being tested, and in ‘Integral Uptime’ our award winning software that is used in critical environments. Going forward we want both our existing clients and potential new clients to recognise that Integral stands for “Engineering Excellence”.
Client retention is key.
We currently enjoy a strong position in the UK market but I have ambition to take us a step further and turn Integral into a “World Class Business”. We will achieve this by putting our customer at the heart of everything we do and nurturing the relationships we have with them. When clients choose us as their maintenance partner, it is imperative if we are to retain their business that we never let them down and fail on our promise of “Delivering Engineering Excellence”.
A one-team approach.
Our one-team approach is simply the process by which we deliver “Engineering Excellence” for our customers. One of our main strengths is our incredibly loyal workforce who enjoy working for both Integral and our clients. Our people are a critical part in this process and each person within Integral has an important role to play in this. During 2016, as part of our one-team approach, the following will be made available to you.
• A new website: This is our shop window, a sales platform which is always working for us 24/7 365 days per year. We need to use this to continuously provide evidence of our ability to “Deliver Engineering Excellence” for the range of clients we service across a variety of sectors. • Most importantly technology is another critical part of our one-team approach. A major change that will affect everyone at Integral is that we have made significant investment to replace all of our existing management systems. Our CAFM, HR & Payroll, and Finance systems are being replaced to allow us to achieve our goal of “Delivering Engineering Excellence”. We have many Managers and Engineers with over 20 years continual service and, as such, many of you will have been around when we launched ‘Vixen’ nearly 20 years ago. It has served the business incredibly well but, with sales of over £370 million per annum, the simple truth is we have outgrown it. We have chosen ‘Maximo’, a product developed by IBM as our new CAFM system, and everyone within the business that uses it, will receive training to ensure we derive the maximum benefits of it. Technology has also advanced massively over the last 5 years and I feel we owe it to our clients and employees to use the latest and best systems available.
Finally ….
I believe that by embracing this new technology and using it to the full, Integral can, over the next three years, become a “World Class Business”. This is a really exciting time for our business and I sincerely look forward to working with you to help drive home this change and achieve our ambitions.
• A new intranet: Internal communication is key, as well as giving access to various marketing resources, it will give us a platform for sharing ideas and recognising the great work we are doing to “Deliver Engineering Excellence”.
