yeongridan, a street full of character and ambiance, is becoming the new hottest spot to go to, but before this area flourished, Maloney’s had already set up camp, and isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. It is a pub like no other; you will immediately feel the friendly and family-like atmosphere, where you’ll find that as a newcomer, you’ll want to become part of this pack of regulars. Maloney’s perfectly characterizes Brendan Maloney’s personality, the owner of the bar. A native of Boston with a great life story, he knows all about the bar business, and about beer. After naming Maloney’s after a typical Irish pub often found in Boston, it has become a staple place for businessmen, English teachers, contractors and Korean Americans to come mingle at. While you may have heard his voice in the subway (yes, he’s a voice actor how cool is that?), it is far more rewarding to hear him excitedly recommend and talk about small owned bar brews (IPA beers) that are often unknown to Koreans.
