RESPONSIVE MODEL PHASE 01 - explores operative and volumetric spatial operations and interactions starting I’ll start with the play operation [Envelop].With my chosen condition, me are to search an object/product/phenomenon that could relate to it, then provide a general analysis on how would these keywords help to provide a better use of this object. Then, produce a creative image of this object to show its main idea (visual collage) and follow with a diagrammatic infographic to show how spatial operation is relate to this object.

PHASE 02 - Through understanding of the envelop (Spatial condition) volumetric manipulation result, search for a good architecture piece and provide a complete spatial analytical precedent study .The purpose of precedent study in architecture is to have an understanding of what has been done before, and use that knowledge to help define and develop your own design concepts. Perhaps even more important is to understand and convey the ideas and concepts behind the work and the methodology on volumetric spatial consideration, with each single operation and condition spatial manipulation.

TASK 01 - Our site is at UCSI University (Kuala Lumpur Campus) situated in Cheras, south-east of downtown Kuala Lumpur, on a 20-acres topographic piece of land. The campus consist a total of 7 blocks that could accommodate student population of more than 15,000 housing different activities ranging from academic and educational to leisure, sports and residential hall. With the number of students growing rapidly every year, the campus is constantly expanding within its master plan to accommodate more activities and programme. Within these 20-acres of land, there are still a 45% of slope topographic areas filled with greeneries left for future development that opens up different possibilities. By carrying out an extensive site analysis, student could establish design parameters and architectural strategies responding to this site in following assignment.

TASK 02 - Interview a student from SABE outside of studio 3 and another student from the 4 faculties or school within the campus (medical, science, music, engineering) to generate TWO student profile to analyse things in common and differences. 1. Personas a. basic information l name, age, year / semester, course b. course information l subjects & timetable, classes location, course duration, general faculty information 2. Scenarios a. routine l daily & weekly timetable x spatial diagram of each activities b. interests l co-curriculum activities x spatial requirements 3. Integrated Mapping a. between students l overlapping time and activities b. schedule of accommodation l shareable common spaces, spatial conditions, private spaces, sizes of space.
INDIVIDUAL SITE ANALYSIS
PROJECT 2A
This project set as a testing ground of contextual architecture. To seek for architectural strategies that respond to the surrounding context, adaptation to the natural and built environment. Within the rich context, architecture supposed to response to the surroundings than being an entity in itself. The art of building is not only forms and shapes but to look at how to design a building that adapts to the topography of site through its depths, how to create space that allow you to experience the environment, how to design for the present with awareness from the past.
task 1 site model scale 1:100 (A4 size)
task 2 Cast 5 responsive model using the chosen operation or condition from project 01. 1/3 volumes in relation to 1:200 overall site , nuber of spaces
INDIVIDUAL WORK ADAPTATION TO CONTEXT
PROJECT 2B
This assignment will explore the fundamental part of the design process: identifying and utilizing the basic elements of a place – the Genius Loci. This will be the foundation upon which to respond to sites in both their perceptual directness and physical constraints and opportunities. You are expected to develop your own design process and technical skills with greater self assurance and individuality, as well as articulate ideas with greater clarity and conviction. Design is not about beautifying an object but to observe, analyse and understand the underlying issue, solve the problem with creativity.

MY two profiled users as the representative from the target future user group for MY communal facility. 6 students - 3 from each discipline - from this target group will be co-living In this Co_(Space).The Co_(Space) shall provide communal spaces for activities of up to 20 users based on the needs of the student community.
TASK 04 Internal Review Online Presentation
8-10 mins pre-recorded video presentation Design statement to outline your design solution focusing on how your design – -improve the behaviours its occupants -reinterpret the experience of student life -enhance the existing condition of the site / community / building / space – socially, culturally, economically and environmentally.
