Chinese culture because every word we write is consisted of wisdom from our ancestors.
With the growing ages and increasingly busy life, people have less chances to hold the
writing brush, and even forget how precious culture we have.

When placed on the product, the tip of the brush will become the middle point of the pictograph
, reminding
people that words they write could be heart-warming.
To convey the temperature of handwriting, we chose brass and walnut as our materials.

To express our topic " ć°´ " , the product should have
really good transparency to show the light and soft
impression of water, so we chose glass as our material and filled them with liquid.
The transparency of the glass can map out the flow of liquid, reminding people that the words could be soft but powerful as water. 16

GULOO At m o sph e re Lig ht
Guloo is a night light which shape was
inspired by the movement of a jellyfish. It features a blue glass light covered with
shattered glass inside in order to convey the infinite change of the ocean. The variegated
color from the light is to symbolize the energy and the luminescence of a jellyfish.

IDEA
This project started with bionic characteristic. We narrowed down the range
to ocean first, and thought which specific features that could be combined with our product.
Eventually, we found that JELLYFISH was theperfect model to transform because of its elegantmovement and luminous ability.

MODELING We printed a 3D model of our product as the prototype and brought it to the glass master in
Hsinchu city. The master used glass blowing technique to help us shaping the appearance
and brushing a chemical smear on the glass surface which could express the transparency of jellyfish precisely.

TESTING Next, we tried to figure out which light was suitable for the glass base. Initially, Tungsten bulb was our first choice, due to its high heat release, we changed the bulb into a stable LED light
which was safer and lower energy consuming could even better present the color from ocean creature.

FEATURES There are seven color applied to the LED light, change the frequency and the
color of LED light by using a remote controller according to their mood and environment. Furthermore, Guloo could be charged flexibly by most of the electronic devices through its USB connector.
RESEARCH ABSTRACT The traditional glass process fades with the age of the staff. We try to explore the
new possibilities of this area by combining design and technology to traditional skills. As the product become modern, and widely accepted, this valued field may be more attractive to people.

USER RESEARCH To figure out what conditions should a good
stool have, our team did competitive product analysis and defined the score principles for
every factors such as height, stability...and so on.
Lastly, we concluded the best stool in our research and had some statistics for the next step.

verify our conclusion by inviting six people to sit on random stools and observing their sitting positions.

PROBLEM DISCOVER Many clinics offer people places to wait, and put books
or magazines on the bookshelf for the waiting persons. In my experience, most of the bookshelves are often messy
due to the uncooperative attitude from specific people. In addition, some clinics do not have enough spaces which would make the entire areas even more crowded.

SOLUTION With the messy bookshelves problem, I decided to design a stool with storage function which was simple but a good way
to use the existing spaces more effectively.

DESIGN CONCEPT The original version of HA stool had too many unnecessary components, so I simplified the form
and added a handle on the back that made the product easy to carry. The size of HA is based on the former research we had done, so it would be comfortable for people to sit.
The name of HA stands for High Availability, which features a storage space below the stool that
could place some books you like. Moreover, the name "HA" can also represent laughter, as I hope that any person who sits on this stool can find pleasure in what he is doing.

IDEA The coffee machine was one of the topics of basic product design class in my second year of the college, my partner and I did lots of competitive product analysis and decided to target our product as "unplugged Espresso machine" since modern people had a tendency to live in the lives that could experience the fun of handmade.

MODELING PE, Copper, Acrylic tube and iron wires were our materials for the 1:1 model, we even stuck a suction cup in the Acrylic tube to simulate the pressing pressure while making espresso.

the bottom bracket and the cup rest are the only parts that could not be moved.

single part of Grace is elaborately designed in order to be operated simply and easy to clean.

STEPS
1. Fill the coffee powder in the portafilter.
4. Pour 88-92℃ water into the chamber.
2. Put the portafilter and the bracket into the filter cap sequentially.
3. Put brewing chamber into the portafilter.
5. Align the plunger to the chamber.
6. Press down the plunger for 10-20 sec to make a delicious espresso.
We would like the person who uses Grace to enjoy not only the espresso brewing process but also the elegance that Grace brings to her every ordinary day.

FEATURES Do you know that the cross-section of an apple is star-shaped? Each section of the fruit is different in dependence on how we cut the fruit. Since we usually cut the fruit vertically, we hardly notice
the differences. In other words, when we are used to cutting the
fruit in vertical, we may miss the opportunity to view other aspects of the fruit, not to mention the beautiful star shape in the apple.

Within each section of the book,
the name, leaf, flower, and structure of the fruit are introduced to the
readers. Combined with toy-building blocks and slices, the book presents
the cross-section and the vertical section of the fruit structure.

Scrape in fragrant five seasons for health and confidence.
XIANG GUA
New type of Chinese medicine scraping tool
There are tons of scraping tools on the market, however, it is difficult for users to understand the correct scraping concept and how to apply the tools without instructions.
Focusing on the five seasons health concept of Chinese medicine, we combine the modern
people's pursuit of health with Chinese herbal medicine to redesign the traditional scraping
tools. What we would like to do is to share
these two long-standing and precious cultures with more people and integrate them into everyone's daily life.

Based on the simple materialism, traditional Chinese medicine pays attention to the interaction between human
body and nature. Different from the four seasons, Chinese medicine divides summer into summer and long summer with five seasons as one year.
The five-season concept and the relationship between the five elements were used as the basis for the design. In addition, some Chinese medicines that are beneficial to the human body are selected to correspond to body organs and meridians that should be emphasized in each season. 56

New type of Chinese medicine scraping tool
There are six series of XIANG GUA, one for
each of the five seasons, and the additional one for daily use.
All the shape of the scraping boards are
inspired by the corresponding organs of the
relationship between five elements, which can be used to scrape and massage the
acupuncture points. Furthermore, users will
be taught the correct concept of scraping in
the way of the card during the experience process.
The product is divided into three parts: a scraping board,
a transparent sheet for isolating the scraping board from
the scraping cream and the bottom part is the Chinese medicine cream.

People should pay attention to the liver and gallbladder nursed back to health. Massage the Dadun and Fengchi acupoints by using the Aspen wood
scraping board and Rubia cordifolia cream could clear the liver and improve eyesight.
