PC Game Cover – Klemens Koestler 9IGCSE Design Brief: The target consumer, for this project, are teenagers, 13-18years, specifically guys. This PC game should be very dynamic (active) and include the different variations of snowboarding. E.g.: big air, half pipe, alpine snowboarding, etc. The game should contain championships, competitive races as you conquer the World of snowboarding. New tricks and new slopes are added to the third series of SX- Competition. The video game has to be a wii game. The Development Process: 1. I came upon the idea of ‘Snowboarding’ for my video game. Hoping to expand my ideas on snowboarding, I looked at video games that I own at home and came across the idea of having a competitive Snowboard game. 2. I searched online for a wii cover template and dragged it into Photoshop.

3. To create a competitive design, I decided to put two snowboarders beside each other (like a race). Also the race would also incorporate dynamic to the game cover.

4. I filled all the blank spaces with a snow-layer background as well as for the pictures.

5. Looking over the picture, I felt as if the picture didn’t contain enough dynamic, so I started brain storming on ideas I could make it better. The initial ideas was to have timer included or time included in the picture, however the time/timer did not match with the cover. My second idea then was to show how the snowboarders progressed. I started copy and pasting the snowboarders and put them in a row behind the actual image, slightly changing their contrast and brightness to show the progression of the snowboarders.

6. I added a title, SX-Competition 2011. The title stands for snowboard-extreme competition. The word competition was added to represent the championships and competitive races, and the 2011 was added because it is the third series of SX Competition.

7. On the back cover, I included the various details in description that were not portrayed by the front cover, such as new tricks and new slopes or conquering the world of snowboarding. I also added in images of different types of snowboarding to show the variety the game has to offer. My primary idea in this last process was to have a image of a big air contest however no reasonable images were found which is why I resorted to this idea.
