I love the dam of this bull. 9B is a cow that doesn’t know how to fail in production. No matter how I’ve bred her, she’s always made me proud. Weaning off a calf that is as fat as a tick and stands nearly as high as herself is par for the course with her. I have several top end daughters in herd, all of which are dark red, deep ribbed, milk well with nice udders, and just overall very complete females. One of 9B’s daughters is the dam of Lot 22, who is also featured on the front cover of this catalogue. Another one of 9B’s daughters produced a Crimson Tide heifer that I sold to Colton Metske of Crooked Creek Farms in Ontario. Colton has shown that female successfully at some local fairs and at the Toronto Royal this past fall, but more importantly, he loves how that cow is performing early in production for him. 9B’s Tycoon bred was one of Taylor Richard’s picks in my bred heifer pasture this summer. When a breeder studies their own herd and identifies the cows that are worthy of being replicated in a flush program, a cow like 9B is an obvious candidate. I have full intentions to flush her either in 2023 or 2024 because I can’t get enough of what she has to offer. 17K was special from day one with his extra depth of rib, width of top and presence. I like the maternal qualities that are stacked in this bull by crossing Lieutenant on 9B. 17K is a power bull but I think his daughters will still be his most valuable asset. Gestation 292 days.
