RECONSTRUCTION OF INDUSTRIAL ZONE
01
Over-crowdness is the common problem within modern society. The urban forest is a kind of place which makes life pace slow down and engenders a chance for the citizens to breathe the fresh air.

Background & Inspiration URBAN
GREENLAND
TERRITORIAL
Modern urbans in China have abundant social resources. But while the urban is developing, residents there is far away from the nature resource. Most of the residents there live in a high pressure. Aged people have to stay in the community feeling lonely because of parks is far from the place they live in.
Less greenland in the city is the outcome of the accelerating urban sprawl in China. Lacking of greenland makes the life more intense in the modern community. Consequently the residents there are isolated from other urban residents. However, residents within community are eagar to have a place to release their pressure.

LOCAL Urban Texture
Greenland Status
The texture of this area is homogenous. The urban space is relatively open to vicinity. The transformation should create some changes within the texture.
The site is crowded by the buildings and constructions. So the greenland within city is really sparse and needs to expand through city.
Residence Condition
Traffic System
The site is a high-density region which is enclosed by buildings and community. The transformation should ease the pressure of such area.
The site is adjacent to the main road of this area. So it is an advantage for the site that there are many people could be bought in.

Mainly For Supply
We set several platforms at different levels in the building, each pattern relies on the platforms and all the platforms have their own function: for supply, for experience, for enjoying and for leisure. Each platform undertakes its own function by the cultivation pattern, the pieces of plants it grows and the natural factor the plants depend on.

① ② ③ There is a recycle centre at the corner of the site which connects the main greenhouse by pipes. All the scrap could be filtrated, distilled and sublimated in there. Eventually, treated waste would be transported back to main building by pipes again. All the waste in the system could be treated in the recycle centre by anaerobic fermentation. Solid and liquid waste could be used as fertilizer to cultivate the green plant within the building. Undisposed waste would be collected and sent to the garbage factory.

Public Service Space
The main purpose of this urban forest is to provide a greenland within this crowded city and also a chance for citizen to ease their pressure. We have greenhouse and several platforms which are placed in different vertical levels. Different plants and different cultivation patterns bring about different experience to the visitors in the building.
Besides plants for recreation and leisure, this factory offers some areas which will definitely benefit the citizen nearby. The fresh food supermarket engenders fresh fruit and vegetable for the neighborhood nearby. People can also drink coffee and have meals in the Stock Bin Restaurant. The whole utilization level could certainly improve with these functions in the building.

Museum built in surrounding of Yunlong Lake
Full View of Site
Located under Yunlong hill, facing the lake, the beautiful natrual enviornment provides excellent geographical conditions for this museum. In order not to break integrity of the mountain landscape, the building reduces the volume of the body, with smaller blocks arranged in combination, then partially buried in the ground, and staggered roof echos the ups and downs of the mountains. How to make it become the highlight of the site, on the basis of not destroying it, at the same time to be harmonious and unified with the new building, is the focus of this design. I break to integral shape into several small units, and then connected them by the corridor, so that the envoironment can blend into the whole museum design.
I break the building into smaller pieces to make it look lighter and more likely to be handled in space, firstly, I got the inspiration form the texture of rocks, I magnify the interspace and grain of small particles. The gravel was changed to be the boundary of each hall, and the gap becomes the outdoor platform and corridors which connects each exhibition hall, these interspace offers visitors a chance to interact with the enviornment and intrigue their inspiration at the same time. Then I adjust each “box according the height of the mountain, I design the sloping roof, and the facial texture to endow the museum the sense of mountain. as for the inside, I select the wood material to rebuild the feeling of nature as much as possible.
FITTING IN
I want to make full use of the nature resources, the main buildings emulate the shape of rocks and the trees can flow through the atrium space. People will feel like walking in the mountain while visiting the exhibition.
VIEW LINK
The site lies beside two scenic spots-Yunlong mountain and Yunlong Lake. The separated form of the buildings maximally reduces the sight block between these two spots. This museum serves as a bridge connecting both sites.
TRAFFIC ROUTE
Deliveries, tourist bus drop-offs and all access to the museum is served by the Hudong Road. Delivery route insolated from others. The traffic light controls the flow of cars and trucks to ensure a smooth traffic distribution into the building.

Central Leisure Space
The main exhibition hall undertakes the main responsibility of exhibition. The full-height space creates a suitable room to display huge statuary. Natural and artificial light highlight the central area which emphasizes the significance of the collection.
The outdoor exhibition platform is the place for flexible and temporary exhibition. Meantime, the platform offers visitors a chance to experience exterior atmosphere while enjoying the collection.
The value of Chinese traditional painting is the artistic conception. Mountains, trees and rivers contain the intention of the painter. So the wood element is selected to the exhibition hall design. I want to use the pure hue, natural factor to simulate the feeling of ‘meandering in the woods’.
The interspace among main halls becomes the central leisure space, it consists of three levels. In order to maintain the original environment, former trees can flow through the interspace into the leisure area. The upper level corridors connecting each hall surround above the leisure field. Different levels enable visitors to enjoy the field in different angles.
A journey of hide and seek, open and close, in and out - this museum seeks to engage discovery and close encounters between artwork and viewer, between artwork inside and nature surrounded.

Why live on Mars? With the rapid development of the modern society, the earth is undertaking tremendous presssure that we can never imagine. Some experts predict that the earth will not be hospitable in the following 100 years. So the people engage in the movement to find colony after the earth and Mars comes into public’s consideration. With the recent discovery of the Mars by NASA, water was proved that once existed on Mars, so it means that Mars might be able to support the existence of lives. But this supposition is still at theoretical level, there are still some problems we need to deal with.

Upper lava solidifies because of the exposure to the exterior enviornment.
Underneath lava continues flowing in the sealed tube which stretches several kilometers long.
Lava tube does commonly exist beneath the surface of the Mars. The scale of the tube is enough for considerable amount of people to live there. Lava reduces gradually with the decreasing volcano activity.
As the lava flows out and disappears eventually, the vacuum tube space forms.
Partical ground collapses and falls down to the bottom of the tube.
MARS SOIL
Why choose lava tube? The space inside lava tube is huge and carved by natural forces. It will save lots of energy and costs. The average temperature underground on Mars is higher than that of the surface. The rock layer above the lava tubes serves as a shield protecting construction from the damage caused by the dust storm, cosmic rays and other disasters.
GLOBAL DUST STORM COSMIC RADIATION lava tube beneath the ground has enough space which can support lots of residents to live for a long time. Each cluster could be easily linked by the platform.
SOLAR RADIATION

CARBON DIOXIDE ATOMSPHERE COMPOSITION
Because of the ground above, the whole system could be protected from the radiation and storm. Residents underground would live safer than those on the surace.
The temperature considerably differs in the daytime and night. But this phenomenon is much more subtle undreground which makes lava tube a suitable place to live.
With the relatively stable plate movement on Mars, the buildings inside lava tube would be oriented for the long-term used purpose. They also have a longer operational life span.

Vertical Elevator
Preparation Work Firstly, we build buffered construction surrounding the hole in the surface of the Mars which will make the construction easier to build.
Airdrop the Material Spacecrafts drop supplies to the surface of the Mars. Decompress the condensed materials as soon as they touch the ground.
Cover the Film Before the construction, lava tube need to be covered by the protective film which will keep the system from the toxin.
Lay the Foundation Foundation will ensure the stability of the central framework, so it is crucial to lay the base before initiating the construction.
Set the Frame Central framework consists of two parts: beyond the ground and beneath the ground. Finally two parts join together.
Build the Canopy After finishing the main framework, vertical elevator will be installed in the central space of the frame.
Add Sphere Cabin Sphere cabins will be printed and assembled underground. All the materials would be transported by the vertical elevator.
Stretch the Construction In order to meet the increasing demand of residence in the future on Mars, more “canopy should be builded within the lava tube.
Connect the Cluster Long-term residence needs communication and interaction, so each cluster will be connected by the platform.

According to the two main functions of the bakery - sell and experience, the spaces of which are abstracted as tubes and nest with each other.
The two main functions are connected by the transportation space. The rudimentary functions are all arranged and connected by the stairs.
While the aim of sell part is to keep customers staying in the store, the aim of experience part is to offer customer chances to communicate.
The sell part is divided into full-height space and kitchen vertically, the exterior part is separated into several layers and regroups partially.
