2022-23 Kansas Women’s Basketball Accomplishments

• Kansas won the program’s first-ever WNIT Championship

• Three players on the All-Big 12 team for the second-straight season, including two All-Big 12 First Team selections (Taiyanna Jackson & Zakiyah Franklin) for the first time in league history

• 23rd 20-win season in program history (25-11). The 25 victories is tied for the fourth-most in program history and most since 1996-97

• Back-to-back 20-win seasons for the first time since 2012 and 2013

• After finishing 9-9 in Big 12 play, the Jayhawks have consecutive league records of .500 or better for the first time since 1998-99 and 1999-2000

• Taiyanna Jackson was named WBCA All-America Honorable Mention, Naismith Defensive Player of the Year Semifinalist and a Lisa Leslie Center of the Year Candidate. She became the first Kansas player to receive AllAmerica Honorable Mention since 2014

• Nationally-ranked for five weeks in December and January, earning the first Associated Press Top 25 ranking since January 14, 2013 and first WBCA Coaches Poll Top 25 ranking since April 10, 2013

• Three Big 12 Player of the Week awards:

Taiyanna Jackson (Jan. 3, Feb. 13)

Zakiyah Franklin (Dec. 19)

• Last unbeaten team in the Big 12 after starting the season 10-0, which is the fourth-best start in program history and best since 2019-20 (11-0)

• Taiyanna Jackson set the single-season school record for blocked shots for the second-straight season, finishing with 109. Jackson also became the first Jayhawk since 1982 to average a double-double

• Zakiyah Franklin set the single-season school record for 3FG% at 49.5% (48-97) and FT% at 87.8% (108-123)

Coach Brandon Schneider Accomplishments

• Earned career win No. 500 with a 66-57 win over Oklahoma State on Feb. 26, 2023

• 1 of 33 active NCAA Division I head coaches with 500 career victories

• Three-time KBCA Coach of the Year, previously earning the award in 2006 and 2010 while head coach at Emporia State

• 2022 Big 12 Coach of the Year
