Heroes of the Nation Introduces a New Paradigm for Transforming Orphans and Communities (1888PressRelease) Kenya's largest orphanage, distinguishes itself by focusing on identity, education and leadership, selfsufficiency and social justice. (1888PressRelease) January 29, 2010 Heroes of the Nation, Kenya's largest orphanage of over 530 children, has a unique solution for enabling orphans to become future leaders of their nation. This innovative and successful model, developed by the founder Andrew Sievright, has caught the attention of local and national officials. The Vice President of Kenya recently asked HTN to help in the founding of a new orphanage. Heroes of the Nation differentiates itself by focusing on four different areas in orphanage campus development: Identity Orphans rescued by HTN are embraced in a loving and nurturing community. Children are taught that they are unique and destined for greatness. Trauma Counseling is utilized to reinforce a positive image. Each child knows that there is no limit to what can be achieved. Education and Leadership Training HTN focuses on empowering orphans to be future leaders. Each child receives an excellent education that prepares them to excel in school, advance to a university, and go on to become leaders in their community. HTN also trains children in entrepreneurship, community service and finances to equip them with skills for life. SelfSufficiency HTN focuses on the economic development and transformation of entire communities. They establish local businesses that provide revenue streams for the orphanage, vocational training for the children and jobs for the community. This groundbreaking entrepreneurial model allows HTN campuses to be financially selfsufficient. Social Justice Children at HTN are taught to view themselves as part of a solution that will answer the need for change. Through demonstration and experience, children learn the joy that comes from a life of contribution to social justice. "The power of identity, education, selfsufficiency and a social justice lifestyle brings lasting transformation and joy to orphans and communities." Andrew Sievright (Founder and President, Heroes of the Nation) For more information go to www.htn.org or email info ( @ ) htn dot org.
