National Cricket organization honors Naperville Park District as the only Park District with a fullfledged Cricket League in the U.S. Dreamcricket.com recognized the Naperville Park District at its December Board meeting with a recognition award honoring the organization for being the first and only park district in the country that has operated a fullfledged cricket for the past three years. Chicago, IL (1888PressRelease) December 14, 2009 At its December 10 regular Park Board meeting, the Naperville Park District was honored with an award from Dreamcricket.com for being the first and only park district in the country that operates a fullfledged cricket league, and has done so for the past three years. Headquartered in New Jersey, Dreamcricket.com is an organization that promotes the sport nationally at all levels (kids, youth, adults) and is affiliated with the USA Cricket Association (USACA) and International Cricket Council (ICC). Sarti Krishnan, a Naperville Park District Cricket League participant and local representative of Dreamcricket.com, presented the Park District with the award. “While more park districts have started getting involved in helping out with some logistics, the Naperville Park District Cricket League is still the only league that is entirely operated by a park district in the United States,” said Krishnan. The establishment of the Naperville Park District’s Cricket League has significantly reduced the need for Naperville residents to travel outside the area and even to other states to play Cricket. Krishnan explained further, “The result of the Park District’s efforts has been an outstanding service to a large population of cricket players and enthusiasts who are residents of Naperville.” Visit Dreamcricket.com for more information.
