MEMORABLE SPACE | PLACE: Superimposition the Past and the Present
AYASTEFANOS CHURCH, located on the foreland of YESILADA was on the route of PILGRIMAGE activity. TODAY, the church is deprived of people and liveliness. Drifted away its surrounding by refilling with concrete flat land. Before there was wild rocks around the church. The area in front of the church lacks of the sense of PLACE which can be felt densely in other parts of the island and its streets. Thinking of these values and the intervention, the church is treated unfairly. The aim is to give back what church and the foreland had before with emphasis on the present fabric of island.
