Knowing for its distinctive feature, the Scholar's rocks is widly applied in traditional Chinese garden. The beauty and diversity of the Scholar's rocks has inspired people, artists and poets throughout history, therefore creating a profound culture of the rock.
As the most important place of origin of the stone, the Taihu Lake stimulated the development of nearby city by making the Scholar's rocks irreplaceable in economics, art and literature.
The project aims to apply the structure of the Scholar's rocks into city environment, meanwhile connecting the nearby traditional gardens, adding cultural atmosphere for the vicinity.

Topology of Space Characteristic Space
To study the form of the Scholar's rocks, the rock is abstracted to a cube while the waterflow is abstracted to tube, ellipse and ball. By testing different relationship between the cube and the geometry, we can create various of archetype of spaces. Then I made four models with the archetype, all of which are characteristic of different Scholar's rocks' features.

A LANDFILL OF LANDSCAPE
Snow mountain garbage landfill in Nepal
Individual work-2022 fall
Mt. Everest has a reputation of the world's highest mountain. However, it is also the world's highest wasteyard with tons of garbage lefting by climbers. If not cleared out properly, the garbage would cause the pollution of the glacier melt water and pollute the source of drinking water of Asia continent.
The Syangche Airport is an abandoned airport in Namche Bazaar, the last large-scale village on the way to Mt.Everest. By turning into a landfill, the airport can eliminate parts of the mountain garbage and provide job offers for local people. The landfill wouuld lies in the mountain, telling the story of people and the environment to people passing by.

REVIVING OASIS
urban design of Yangguan town, Dunhuang, China teamwork with Xuejing He-2021 winter personal contribution: design planning, image-making
The Dunhuang City is one of the most famouse city along the Silk Road with multiple cultural heritage. However, the city and the heritage has been threatened by desertification due to the deforestation of Yangguan Forest Farm. To save the city, we have to save the forest.
The slime mould is a eukaryotic organisms who has the ability to plan a most effective route for transportation. By functioning different route simultaneously, the slime mould could avoid the situation of a total failure.
Inspiring by the slime mould, we build a forest belt in Yangguan Town with a pattern of slime mould, protecting Dunhuang City from the sand meanwhile transporting irrigation water with the most effective way, prompting the development of local economy.

Deforestation of Yangguan Forest Farm Caused Severe Problems
· Land Changes in Yangguan Forest Farm
Forest and native plants reduced significantly in past 20 years to reclaim more fields to grow and sell grapes without the forest belt, Dunhuang is suffered from desertification causing sand erosion of the heritage, environmental degradation, and decline in tourism
· Crucial Location of Yangguan Town located in the southeast of Dunhuang City, Forest of Yangguan is responsible for defending sands from the desert for the city.
