The impact of human activities on lakes (case study:Tashk and Bakhtegan lakes,Fars county,Iran) Leila Habibi
In this research analysis we wanted to give an expose’ of how the effects of human activities impact the water resources in Iran’s Fars county. In recent years, the building of barriers and the exceeding use of water in the Kore and the Syvand rivers (for agriculture and human use) has caused an interference in the environment’s capacity to maintain a healthy balance. As a result of this imbalance, the change created a severe water fluctuation in the ecosystem.

Unfortunately, as this process has continued, there has been a heavy cost in this water-laden environment. This environment has been the home of various species of birds, and the water has been crucial to their existence. Two years ago, the conditions brought about as a result of a drought, caused the death of over ٥٠٠٠ flamingos.
The object of this research, though, was to give an estimation of the water rights for the regeneration of this environment. Thus, lake levels have been divided into different classifications by the –C fuzzy technique, the GIS (geographical information system), and satellite images. These systems help estimate the amount of water needed for survival in this important ecosystem. The amount of water in demand must be supplied by the rivers (Kor and Syvand), and the amount of atmospheric precipitation over a one-year period. It is clear that the complete drying of lakes causes wildlife to disappear and shapes the desert region in this ecosystem. For this very reason, government policies must make it a top priority to sustaining the environment. Finally, we suggest that the environmental impact assessment of barriers on rivers in this region can lead to a sustainable and high-quality environment.
