Top new prospects: "Lexi Cooper (Jr., 5'10:, RS/MH); Courtney Quade (Fr., S/DS, 5'4"); Marissa Ferguson (Fr., 5'3", DS/OH) Coach McDowell on this year's team: "As you can tell by our roster, we are very young. It will a little while to get everyone's feet wet, but they have a great work ethic and should become veterans quickly. The three seniors had large roles in our quarterfinal win two years ago and are tested and true volleyball veterans. "We will play together very well, we will have a lot of fun, and when you watch us play, you will see great sportsmanship and positive attitudes, plus some decent volleyball." Coach McDowell on the GTC East: "Sandusky and Brown City should be very good this year. Ubly is always tough. And, we should be okay by midseason."

Vince Brown (LB); Justin Fischer OL/DL) Top new prospects: Anthony Kappen (JR., QB/LB, 5'11", 195); Ryan Miller (Jr., SB/LB, 5'10"150); Aaron Hirsch (Jr., WR/LB, 6'3", 195); Nate Strauel (Jr., WR, 5'6", 1390); Zachary Kady (Jr., WR/DL, 5'6", 140); Alan Sager (Jr., OL.LB, 6', 160); Alex Howe (Jr., OL/DL, 5'6", 215) Coach Lester on this year's team: "This year's team has a lot of athletic ability - we have some very good athletes that can run. Our team speed is probably the best since I have been head coach and that will be important because we don't have a lot of size. We really feel like, even though, we're small, that we will be a good football team. The kids are working hard and have high

goals. We feel like we are going to go out and compete with every team on our schedule every Friday night. We have the same expectations that we have every year." Coach Lester on the GTC East: "Until someone is able to knock off Ubly, there is no reason not to put them at the top - they have a great program. Sandusky, Brown City and Harbor Beach all have very good players coming back. All three are well coached and prepared teams. Our team just hopes to go out every Friday night and compete. We just need to go out and be consistent every Friday night. We need to play great defense, not turn the ball over, and play good special teams. If we can do this, we'll make a run at the playoffs."

"This year's team has shown up focused and ready to go! They are an excited group of girls. We have a very young team, but our three seniors are excellent leaders and solid players. They are doing a great job of taking the younger girls under their wings. My underclassmen are a talented group.... and are very driven. (The team) is working well together and seem to mesh well. We are a very solid serving team. The team is moving well and covering a lot of ground, which has been a problem for us in the past. We also have good size." Coach Bussey on the NCTL: "Our league is always tough, but we will take one game at a time. I'm hoping that our new schedule (North Division foes first) will benefit us. It will be nice to save our top teams for mid-season. Hopefully, by that time we will have our confidence built up."

Coach Bays on the GTC East: "Marlette, Brown City and Ubly all have many talented seniors returning, and Harbor Beach is bringing up many athletes from a loaded JV team. Our conference will be strong as it has ever been. Our team is good enough to compete with all of these teams, but with our lack of size, we have to play our best game every week to have a chance at making the playoffs."
