Quantum Offshore Ltd. designed, manufactured, tested and supplied the diesel powered emergency generator package for installation on the Halfdan platform, located in the Danish sector of the North Sea. The generator is continuously rated 1125kW/1250kVA at site conditions, with an overload capacity of 10% for 1 hr in 12 and an output of 400V/3PH+N/50HZ.

Inert gas fire suppression system and 316 stainless steel enclosure fire dampers. Fire & gas detection. Individual microprocessor controlled generator control systems with comprehensive integrated control, synchronising, load sharing and condition monitoring facilities together with remote redundant serial communication links between individual units and Purchasers process control system. Master control panel providing monitoring and control of all units via colour HMI, together with control of Purchasers switchboard incomers, bus-tie and generator circuit breakers in addition to a dual redundant PLC for sequencing the control of switchboard feeders.

UNATTENDED LONG RUN GENERATORS NEPTUNE PLATFORM – BP/PERENCO
Quantum Offshore Ltd were approached by BP to design and supply two diesel powered generators each continuously rated 50KW, 415V, 3Ph, 50hz suitable for operating for 2500hrs completely unattended operation on a normally unmanned offshore platform in the Southern UK sector of the North Sea.

UNATTENDED LONG RUN GENERATORS Operators original design concept was for regular quick offshore disconnection and change out with a back up unit shipped out from onshore, however after over fifteen years successful operation of the Quantum supplied packages (>50,000 hrs each) a back up unit been recently supplied for replacement of one of the original units, which will be brought onshore and overhauled ready for future changeout.
FEATURES IP55 rated 316L stainless steel enclosure and offshore coating system for carbon steel to withstand open deck hostile corrosive environment. Rugged Duetz F6L913 air cooled diesel engine close coupled to Leroy Somer Marine IP23 AC generator with special windings designed to withstand a high harmonic profile of the supplied platform UPS loads. Highly modified lubrication system incorporating specially developed high performance full flow and bypass filtration and extended capacity oil sump integrated into package base. Double walled high pressure fuel injection lines. Combustion air system included two stage coalescer ‘Quantum deliver a quality system that will conform and air shutoff flaps. ATEX certified quick connect power and instrumentation interfacing plugs/sockets and battery isolation. Local/Remote control and monitoring system with synchronising and load sharing.
