20:15 THE GREEN PRINCE (United Kingdom / Germany / Israel, 101’) Directed by: Nadav Schirman The son of a founding leader in Palestinian organization Hamas becomes a spy against his own country. 22:30 10,000 KM (Spain / USA, 99’) I.C. Directed by: Carlos Marques-Marcet He lives in Barcelona and she's based in Los Angeles with 10,000KM, their past, their present and their future standing in the way. From the stunning 17min opening shot, to the endlessly inventive depiction of a longdistance relationship, this is the debut that stood out the most at the SXSW, putting a new spin on the tired romance film genre.

18:00 DINOSAUR 13 (USA, 105’) Directed by: Todd Douglas Miller The discovery of the largest Tyrannosaurus Rex fossil ever found will turn into a nightmare for the paleontologists that unearthed it, as they will be forced to battle the U.S. government, powerful museums and the locals to hold on to it and keep their freedom. Petros Sevastikoglou directs a puzzle, whose pieces make up her broken identity as he follows her non-linear emotional connections in the echoes of the ancient Greek myth. The past is reconstructed, the present takes shape and the future is barely visible. Electra's journey equals her country's own fate. Starring Sofia Kokkali, Karyofyllia Karabeti and Kris Radanov. Filmmakers in attendance 22:30 BEAUTIFUL NOISE (USA, 87’) M.C. Directed by: Eric Green My Bloody Valentine. The Jesus and Mary Chain. Cocteau Twins. Slowdive. Ride. They didn't exactly sell millions of records, but they inspired countless people to start their own bands. Hidden behind the magical guitar noise of their deeply sentimental pop songs, the film explores the rise of shoegaze, featuring archival material and rare interviews from notoriously shy artists who have finally broken their silence.

theater 2 TRIBUTE TO ANDRZEJ ZULAWSKI 19:00 DIABEL / THE DEVIL (1972, Poland, 123’) Directed by: Andrzej Zulawski Amidst the chaos of the Prussian invasion of Poland in 1793, a young nobleman escapes from prison, only to find his entire family immersed in corruption and decadence, sending him on a murderous rampage. Zulawski turns a period drama into a monumental Grand-Guignol opera of choreographed violence and political allegory, banned in Communist Poland for more than 15 years. ROBERT ALTMAN IN THE 70s 21:30 CALIFORNIA SPLIT (1974, USA, 108’) Directed by: Robert Altman In this delightful behavioral comedy two compulsive gamblers (George Segal and Elliott Gould, with incredible on-screen chemistry) wander from one casino to the next, waiting for Lady Luck to knock on their door. Somewhere along the way, the director sarcastically pays his respects to the countless neuroses, obsessions and mass illusions that plague his fellow countrymen, without ever losing his sense of humor.

2 19:00 SHORT STORIES Α’ (95’) An international selection of the best short films of the year. 21:00 MERCURIALES (France, 108’) Directed by: Virgil Vernier A young security guard pays a visit the two skyscrapers where he's going to be working before his first night on the job, somewhere in the working class Parisian suburbs. 20-year anniversary: Athens International Film Festival 25-year anniversary: CINEMA Magazine

The three most important elements of the filmmaking process (frame-light-motion) are central to this year's festival motto, defining the history of the image, from the first rock engravings all the way to Wes Anderson. • The festival will be projecting excerpts from 1000 film trailers on 24 screens in the cylindrical D4 building, scored by Felizol. Search for original dialogue from 10 surprise films. Note that Orson Welles and Federico Fellini will not be present in the selection, contrary to Vincente Minnelli, David Lynch, Michael Curtiz and John Waters in an antihistorical flashback that would never make sense to anyone but us! • Four screens in the D12 building define the walls of a "moving room" where Mr. Girl and her EWI comment on a series of contradictory stills and moving images. Fred Astaire and Kzrystof Penderecki, Slavoljub Vorkapic, Karlheinz Stockhausen and Vassilis Tsitsanis, Kostas Sfikas, Marcel Duchamp and Claude Debussy. Don't be surprised to see yourself looking back at you. (Each performance will last 25 minutes and they will continue to play in a loop) Our birthday party will commence right afterwards.
