FROZEN FIRE FILMS Filming The Jonas Brothers at Dr. Pepper Ballpark in Frisco In addition to singing their hearts out, the Jonas Brothers have pledged to play a game of softball at each stop on their tour as part of a campaign to encourage teens to “X” the “TXT” while driving. Sponsored by Allstate Insurance and held at the Dr. Pepper Ballpark in Frisco, Texas, the trio of brothers, their road crew and thousands of screaming fans filled the stadium for an early afternoon rousing game of softball. The team from Frozen Fire Films was on hand to capture footage of the brothers interacting with fans. Plenty of feel-good Allstate Insurance footage was shot as people pledged to not text while driving by putting a blue thumbprint on a giant banner. The softball was also a great success for all involved. Thanks to the modern technology of tapeless HD acquisition, we were able to capture the footage and transfer it onto a hard-drive for editing by our client that same day. We felt proud to be a part of both a beneficial awareness campaign that will save lives and also to be called on to film an event with a musical group on track to have a following as big as The Beatles. Check out the Frozen Fire Films footage of the game featuring The Jonas Brothers on www.cambio.com. dallasproducers.org 3

THE CREATIVE SPIN A beer that tells you when it’s cold and a rowdy baseball fan gets a fashion make-over were the concepts behind two TV commercials just created by The Creative Spin, the media production company based in Irving. Both spots were directed by Creative Spin’s owner, Joey Curry. Like any television commercial shoot, these productions were not without their complications. The Coors Light commercial was shot at a local convenience store that had to remain open for business during the shoot. “We had a two-hour window to shoot the scenes we needed, but we still had to contend with customers coming in and out of the place,” Curry said. “They were curious about what we were doing but polite and cooperative.” To see the Coors Light commercial, visit: http://www.youtube. com/watch?v=oMj3Lvr87EE In the spot for Haggars, shot outside at Grand Prairie’s Air Hog Stadium, it was rain that was the challenge — prompting a reschedule for principal photography when the shoot was rained out. “First, we had to find a day when the main actors were available,” explained Curry. “Then notifying the 25 paid extras from the Clutts Agency and the other 25 who were friends of friends was time-consuming. But we managed to pull it off.” To see the Haggars commercial, visit: http://www. youtube.com/watch?v=HT_CJEK5Vxo Freelance videographer Jon Collins was the DP and Josh Curry was assistant director for both spots which will air exclusively on FOX Sports Net. dallasproducers.org

MemBEr neWS AMS PICTURES This summer has been very busy and exciting for us at AMS Pictures. In our Original Programming division, we premiered our latest network series, Ma’s Roadhouse on truTV. This was marked by a spectacular premiere party and live viewing. We are also excited about our latest documentary, I Am Alive: Nando Parrado’s Story, the incredible true story of Nando Parrado and the other 15 plane crash survivors of Uruguayan Flight 571. Told through the eyes of Nando, this documentary will debut in the fall on a major television network. And, our latest network show for Veria, Yoga for Life Season II, just wrapped production and moves onto post! In this series, Yoga master Kurt Johnsen invites the audience to learn his techniques to make life less stressful and better balanced. In our Corporate & Commercial divisions, we’ve wrapped on several television spots for Subway and Cantoni stores. AMS Pictures is also honored to receive a Magellan Gold award for its corporate video work for Sabre Holdings on their new online travel product, Sabre Red. We’d like to give a big shout-out to the strong local production community of contractors and freelancers who offered their time and efforts to make all of these projects a success. We couldn’t have done it without you!
