BACK TO A WONDERFUL WORLD? HH

For millions of years the earth’s surface remained warm , but not too hot thanks to...

BUT WHAT IF IT DIDN’T EXIST ? If it didn’t exist our planet would have an average temperature of -18ο C …

…and the lush ecosystems of our planet…

…wouldn’t have grown!

But…the “most clever “ species of nature , humans , made an excessive use of fossil fuels just to satisfy their materialistic needs.

And so our story begins…

Our town , Megalopolis, an area with mineral wealth‌

‌contributes decisively to the energy development of our country with the Systematic Exploitation of Lignite for power generation.

Unfortunately, the use of lignite quickly became overuse and the harmful gas emissions like CO2, CO, SO2 were proliferated rapidly.

2007: The most destructive and lethal wildfires broke out in Peloponnese.

Fires have an impact on the carbon balance of forests through emissions of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases!

However, CO â‚‚ emissions from decay are generally three times greater than emissions from combustion.

How can we compensate for greenhouse gas emissions from wildfires???

Remove dead trees and store the carbon they contain in wood products consumers need! This can reduce total CO2 emissions by as much as 15%.

Plant a young tree to replace one ‘killed’ by wildfire or illegal logging.

Also, the PPC has committed to buying renewable-source energy from independent producers at five times its selling rate until 2034.
