Dreaming to be an architect, I’ve always been expecting that my design could bring people happiness and positive influence. I have enjoyed reading books since high school, especially in architecture, and found that architecture was a combination of technology and art. And architecture and human activities were in a state of mutual influence, which could solve many social problems. And after graduating from high school, I went to many cities in China, visited many famous buildings, and found that under the influence of different types of buildings, the behavior and psychological state of the people around would also change. In the process of undergraduate study, I found that there are many barriers in human society, including the gap between urban and rural areas and the gap between different groups of people, which are mainly caused by unbalanced development and group differences. This situation will lead to people's unhappiness, social instability, and then has a negative impact on the development of human society. Therefore, as an architect, on the basis of full analysis of the social status quo, I always find the key to the problem, and reduce this gap through different ways of dealing with architecture and public space, so that people will free communication space.

And during my undergraduate period, I try to broaden my horizons, understand the world's cultural customs, architectural forms and materials, so as to combine various elements in the prospect design. As for me, even though the domestic undergraduate education helps me build a solid foundation, there are still some limitations and divergence of my visions. I’ve always been expecting to learn comprehensively including foreign design concepts and acquiring as many architectural design skills as possible. If I can be admitted by UCL, I can better study architectural design and contribute to the development of human society through the way of architecture. And I firmly believe that the integration and collision of Chinese and Western cultures will produce unexpected sparkles. I plan to observe various classical architecture cases and the modern masters’ on the spot, to enrich my design techniques. Further studies in Architectural Design will not only realize my dream of development in the architectural industry, but also provide me with a better career prospect. I hope that my unique design can stand sustainably in this industry while bringing people happiness.

In order to promote the development of the village and reduce the gap between urban and rural areas, the grain station at the core of tuhe village was transformed to become a transfer station connecting the city and the countryside. Through the implantation of steel frame, the original closed space of the grain station is more open, and the grain station itself becomes a living museum displaying the countryside, which increases the vitality of the countryside.

Nowadays, there is a big gap between urban and rural development in China. Thus, a "transfer station" is needed between urban and rural areas to balance them. Through the combination of the most dynamic area in the countryside - the market and the most dynamic area in the city - the museum, the connection between the city and the countryside is formed. The grain station has been built for more than 40 years. It is a traditional wooden structure with a bucket in southern China. It is characterized by a series of repeated roof trusses. Due to the characteristics of warehouse buildings, the lighting of the veranda is sufficient, but the interior of the main body of grain station is dim due to the lack of windows. Due to the construction time is too long, the grain station frame structure has the phenomenon of skewness and aging. The internal space of grain station is too homogeneous and not connected with others. The main way of reconstruction is to reinforce the original structure and break the homogeneous space and enclosure structure. In addition, the internal space of the grain station is expanded by adding new buildings.

Main view point architecture rendering This viewpoint is located in the east of the football field at the main entrance of the campus, which is the most crowded area. Not only teachers and students can enjoy the gymnasium in this place, but also residents in the neighborhood are welcome to exercise here. The depression in the center of the roof plays a role of visual guidance, leading people's sight to the farther away Gele Mountain. Therefore, the green space of the football field, the green roof of the gymnasium and the green hills in the distance are connected visually, which provides a unique visual experience. Design drawings

AUTHOR OF THE DRAWING: YUNFAN LI

Historical Studies In the Zen temples of the Song Dynasty, the Zhuanluncang temple is generally located in the first half of the temple, which plays the role of storing scriptures and limiting space. In the design of Zhuanlunzang hall, the traditional Chinese wooden building code "Caifenzhi"has been fully applied, which takes the width of the Chinese Huagong as the cardinal number. It is made of five grade timber (6.6 * 4.4 chi), six rafters, three bays, three deep parts of the main body and one deep part of the building.
