Purpose and Scope The Oil and Gas Disputes Course will focus on three options for dispute resolution - negotiation, arbitration, and litigation - and take you through them step by step. We will begin with how to draft contracts that reduce the likelihood of disputes arising in the first place. How do you negotiate for your client both ethically and effectively? What traps do you need to watch for? How do you handle international leases? When you choose arbitration, how do you effectively work with an arbitration panel? When is mediation the best option? And finally, if you do end up in litigation, what is the best way to present your evidence to sway a jury? How do you deal with expert witnesses? Preserving error? This course will provide you with the answers to these questions and more.
