21st Annual

You’re Invited to the 2013 TMCP!

Texas Minority

Wednesday, NOVEMBER 6 Golf Tournament

On behalf of the Office of Minority Affairs and the 2013 Steering Committee, we invite you to the 21st Annual Texas Minority Counsel Program in Dallas, Texas on November 6-8, 2013. Come find out why the TMCP is the premier client development, networking, and CLE event for attorneys in Texas!

Get a jump start on your networking by playing a round of golf with in-house counsel, speakers, and sponsors. This year’s tournament takes place at the TPC Four Seasons Las Colinas — Home to the PGA Tour’s HP Byron Nelson Championship. The 4-person scramble tournament has a shotgun start at noon on Wednesday, November 6, 2013. Sign up by selecting it on the registration form in this brochure, or by including it with your conference registration when registering online at www.TexasBar.com/TMCP. Detailed tournament information will be emailed to golf registrants before the event.

The TMCP’s unique format not only provides valuable CLE credit but also gives attendees an opportunity to participate in informational interviews to discuss outside counsel opportunities. The golf tournament, spa retreat, receptions, and dine-arounds (small groups of participants dine together at nearby restaurants) all maximize the opportunity for attorneys to connect.

Informational Interviews Outside Counsel Interested in Being Interviewed Law firm attendees have a chance to participate in informational interviews with corporate and government representatives to discuss outside counsel opportunities.

Expectations The TMCP is an opportunity to network and form new business relationships. The conference is not a job fair, nor is there any guarantee that you will receive work as a result of the interview process. We hope to provide you with an opportunity to meet with in-house lawyers and tell them about your practice area(s). This introduction is the first step to getting your name known by the organization so that you can be considered for future work opportunities.

Signing Up and Submitting Your Résumé First, register for the conference. After your registration is received, you will be emailed a link to upload: (1) a personal résumé, and (2) a firm résumé, including a narrative description of your firm’s practice, area(s) of expertise, and all office locations. If your personal résumé already includes this information you may omit the firm résumé. To be considered for pre-selection, your résumé(s) must be received by the early registration deadline of September 27, 2013.

Notification A list of interviewing companies can be found online at www.TexasBar.com/TMCP. You will be notified via email at least one week prior to the conference whether you have been pre-selected for an informational interview. If you are pre-selected your email will include the interview date and time, the interviewing company, and if available, the name of the interviewer.

On-Site Sign-Up Limited sign-up will be available on-site on a first-come, first-served basis for prescheduled time slots that are still available. At the conference your registration packet will include instructions. All interviews are 15-minute consecutive sessions, unless otherwise noted. Some corporations may request to speak with you and a colleague simultaneously, to represent the firm. In that case, a joint interview will be conducted.

2013 STEERING COMMITTEE COMMITTEE CHAIRS Aparna Dave Wells Fargo Bank, N.A. Christopher Mugica Jackson Walker L.L.P. CORPORATE Cheryl Barber

Signing Up To conduct interviews on behalf of your company, complete the registration form in the TMCP Sponsor & Interviewer brochure found online at www.TexasBar.com/ TMCP.

Pre-Selection Pre-selection gives your organization an opportunity to select attorneys prior to the conference to ensure that you meet outside counsel with the skill sets that are needed by your organization, either now or in the future. The representatives from your company who will be conducting interviews will receive instructions via email on how to access résumés. Sign-up will be available on-site for attendees on a first-come, first-served basis if you leave time slots available for them to do so.

Corporate and government representatives have the opportunity to meet a diverse pool of outside counsel by conducting informational interviews at the conference. We make it easy by: (1) compiling résumés in an online database to review, and (2) providing an area at the conference to have one-on-one meetings.
