The book is a series of architecture projects which display the capacity for architecture to deal with dual motives, embedded agents, and multiplicities. For an architect, variety is a safari of unknown, endless desire push Sisyphus reaching the top of the mountain.

Drinks factory renewal _ extend building Taichung City, Taiwan 16837 m2

This project has been designed as a beverage factory at Taichung Industrial Zone while creating the innovative working zone for staff who work here. The function contains with the generous production line, loading bay, administration, restaurant, and cutting-edge beverage lab. The street side extension is the loading bay which can afford two container car loading at the same time. The pavement place with indigenous speciesMillettia pinnata. The interior design aims to tackle the noise and the pollution from the production line. An additional restaurant has been designed as part of the auditorium extension with the balcony located beside the Westside street.

Most of the production line is set on the first floor. Thus, we use acoustic board and thick panel to absorb noise which remains a quiet place for the researcher.

Refining silvergrass Acording to government report, 38 Ton silvergrass can produce energy same with 13 Ton coal. Furthermore, plants fiber is one of the by-product of biomass process which also can become composition of chipboard.

In Spring, SHUI-NAN-DON region will celebrate for Matsu Pilgrimage Procession. Local people will participate for good luck. They will circle SHUI-NAN-DON region pray for their family. If we built the structure more suitable for local people, while easily split it over and simple way to store.

In Summer, SHUI-NAN-DON region will have host “Torch Festival”. People climb to the top of mountain and holding torch as symbol as drive bad luck away. I used cross wood structure to establish temporary structure, while solve local area which leak of pavilion and tent during the“Torch Festival”.

Silver grass drying warehouse In Winter, after harvest silver grass. People need sun-dried silver grass till it moisture content lower than 20%. Additionally, 20% moisture content silver grass can transport to factory for produce biomass energy. As a result people need esablish temporary structure in the mountain.

Glove Puppetry stage In Autumn, SHUI-NAN-DON region will celebrate for The Xuantian Deity’s birthday. Due to the clebration, local people will construct temprary stadium for conventional drama “Glove Puppetry”. Every years people spend lots of cost in construct stadium and demolish it after celebration.

During the process, mountain become silver grass field, smoke pipe become boundary, lateral path become field ridge, node are education center. After several decade, When the land purify process end. Not only receive the natural environment just like hundred years ago, but also produce the energy what we rely on.

Beijing is a city of “Courtyard”. The scale can large like “The Palace” and small like a house. Courtyard is the basic element. The interflow between citizens is happen at here. It is like an outdoor living room. Build the connection between nature and people. These design is aim to preserve tradition courtyard, while renovate old houses. In addition, break the original first floor of courtyard also establish staircase which is connect first floor along with basement. Transfer convention courtyard to three-dimensional space type.

The creating and admiring process of Chinese conservation art are using nature as the model. Ancient artist via building mountain path, while establishing connect with nature. Architecture is not about creating a statistic envelope. In other words, the building is always about movement in space. -Bernad Tschumi(1995). The Manhattan Transcripts

Every mankind would chase their own desire, no matter it will harm other people’s benefit or not. In the decline area, we always talk about revive local property and save conventional industry. In the past 10 years, Taichung City already done numerous renovation project. Not only few project recieve success, but also waste abundant society resource. Including the research, If a place want to revive which must have some “unique” event can happening at site. Site near “Yanagawa waterway” which is a historical scene since 1910. In addition, local area are prosper in1970, but after urban development and fire disaster these region are recession in 2000. Many yourth are going to other place for living, most of local population are elder and low economic citizens. Due to the object, I set yorth become my target client. Via Bernard Tschumi’s theory, I establish many kind of exhibition space in the building, while I also believe “event” can happening in different scale. For example, people use small room to show their creativity, or assemble multiple space as a large stadium. As a mediator between the public and the local citizens, the project integrates the intricate hierarchy of public exhibition center in two diferent dimension - horizontal publicness and vertical functions.

Central District once became the most prosperous region in Taiwan, population density had over 49,529 people per square kilom-eter in 1986. However, because of traffic transportation shortage and leak of traffic road, Taichung City’s urban development start move to suburban area. Besides, in addition to Taichung industry transformation. Central District face to serious recession. Due to solving local issue, I set multiple node as the “renovation event point”.
