“Having the opportunity to be involved in this company with so many great people and to have so much impact on so many lives is amazing,” she said. “I absolutely love it.”
“Our customers trust us to know that they are getting the best formula for the best result. We only use formulations, processes, and ingredients that maintain the highest quality,” she said. “We are creating a team and a foundation that can grow and expand and always reflect these core values.”
In 2019, Pratte also became Co-founder and CEO of The Candidly, a wellness brand for women who “sort of hate wellness brands” with the goal of creating content for women over 40 who want practical solutions to their lives.
The inspiration for The Candidly was not finding the kind of content that resonated with women like herself and in two years the site has garnered attention from the Whole30 Creator and Founder, Melissa Urban, The Gottman Institute, and others.
When asked why the health/wellness space is such a good fit, Pratte eagerly responded. “I simply love it. I was first introduced to nutrition and supplements in the late 1990s, and that’s where I found my passion,” she explained. “I felt like this was what I was meant to do.”
Living her best life, and helping others do the same is her reason for jumping out of bed each morning. “I’m happy that I was educated about this early so I can pass this on to my three now adult sons,” Pratte said.
“I want them to know how important your health is because, without it, it is difficult to be motivated to pursue your dreams and passions.”
She said that running a corporation makes the work/family balance more than difficult, but because hers is a family business she would often bring her sons (Jonathan, Jackson, and Jared) to work so they could see first-hand what she was building.
“I wanted my boys to be included in both my failures and my successes. I wanted them to know what I was working toward and how it affected them.”
When it comes to living by the edicts of her health/wellness brand, this is something that Pratte takes very seriously, especially when it comes to her fitness routine, healthy eating, and travel. Everything positively impacts her personal wellness and that of NBPure.
For Pratte, exercise is one of the most important routines you can have for health and longevity, and she certainly walks the walk and talks the talk. “Exercise gives you a clear mind, reduces stress, and can positively affect mood.”
As such, she does something active every day. “The key is to find something fun that you enjoy doing. For me, that’s walking, boxing, and weightlifting. I enjoy mixing it up.”
Pratte also makes it a point to eat clean. I start the day with some kind of shake – I mix it up with protein, fiber, fruit, greens, and nut milk.”
She also tries not to eat a lot of packaged or processed foods. “It’s about being smart about what you are putting in your body. For me, exercise, what you eat, and how you spend your time are a good equation to having good longevity and a healthy life span.”
Another aspect of her personal, and business life, is traveling to new places, exploring cultures, and meeting the people there. “I like looking at the local ingredients that are used and getting inspiration for ingredients we can use in our products.”
Pratte is excited about continuing to reach more people who are looking for information, products, and solutions that can help them live their best lives. An important part of her mission – and the mission of NBPure, is to continue to educate people about wellness.
“We are living in a time when people want to be healthy, they want great, quality products that are proven to work and they want solutions from companies that are honest and conscientious about things like their individual health, family health, global health,” explained Pratte.
“We want this to be a brand without borders,” she said, “because we all share many of the same goals of living and sustaining a healthy, amazing, incredible life.”
