Make your kitchen and bathroom pop

KITCHENS AND BATHROOMS ARE AREAS IN THE HOME WE SPEND A LOT OF TIME IN. KATY HUSBAND FROM FEATHER AND OAK SHOWS US HOW ADDING POPS OF COLOUR IS ONE OF HER FAVOURITE WAYS TO INJECT A LITTLE JOY INTO THESE SPACES.

When many of my clients think of adding colour, they imagine bold neons or bright colours invading the room. Rest assured, you don’t have to add crazy amounts of bright colours to increase the interest in a space!

We love working with different tones and shades. Colour adds dimension, and subtle tones can be just as effective as their bright and bold counterparts.

Here are some of my favourite ways to introduce colour into your space – on your terms!

PAINT ME PRETTY Paint is often the most obvious choice when it comes to adding colour to a room.

Think about painting the cabinets or island a statement colour to draw some attention but not overwhelm your space. In the bathroom, a colourful vanity will add a little drama and leave a huge impact.

RUGGED UP Rugs aren’t only confined to living spaces! They are warmly welcomed in the bathroom and kitchen.

If you have kitchen counters parallel to each other, think about adding a runner on the floor to soften the look. For the bathroom, select a rug that suits your colour scheme and can handle the humid environment of the bathroom. TILED BEAUTY Having a backsplash installed in the kitchen is not only functional but adds a pop of colour to the space as well. There are so many colours, shapes and patterns to choose from. Tiles are one of our favourite ways to add a little personality. Don’t forget about the bathroom floor! We love elevating bathroom looks with coloured or patterned tiles to create a memorable bathroom experience.

SINK INTO GOLD A sink is a subtle way of introducing a pop of colour! Sinks in rose, black or bronze shades with smooth, brushed or hammered finishes shine bright alongside natural materials. Alternatively, gold faucets and hardware can elevate light or dark surroundings. We love the world of colour!

Get inspired by looking online and finding what you love. Adding colour doesn’t have to be expensive or complicated – there are no rules! Even the smallest of amounts can add to your space and make it your own.

Are you ready to inject a little colour into your home, but you’re unsure where to begin? Reach out to us! We’d love to hear about your project and help you paint your world in colour. Loloi Rugs
