Traditionally courtyards have been the center of an established community in both its physical location and functionality. People from the surrounding gather toward the courtyards to participate in various socializing activities. However, in the context of the post-pandemic era, a volume that allows for a large crowd to gather becomes seemingly less appropriate. Yet, in public amenities such as a school, the existence of an outdoor socializing space is indispensable. Therefore in this project, larger courtyards on lower floors allow people from different programs to gather, while the micro courtyards on upper foors are only serving for specifc programs.
