Design DESIGN Canberra is a celebration of the best in craft, design and architecture in Canberra. Held for the first time in 2014 DESIGN Canberra will be the most important event of the design year. Inspired by Canberra’s world-class design sector DESIGN Canberra will ENGAGE with craft and design, architecture and the designed city in new and exciting ways. EVOLVE DESIGN Canberra has already gained support as an important design event attracting partnerships with Canberra’s national cultural institutions, the tertiary sector and industry. The festival will be held annually and in 2014 the focus is to firmly establish the festival in the minds of Canberrans and interstate visitors. In 2015 the festival program will evolve to increase partnerships, participation and visitors to Canberra. DESIGN Canberra objectives are to go BEYOND our shores to raise awareness of Canberra as a world-class design city and increase GLOBAL partnerships and participation with our Asian neighbours.

Management Craft ACT: Craft and Design Centre will manage the delivery of DESIGN Canberra and develop the program in partnership with key sector stakeholders. Craft ACT: Craft and Design Centre is a key cultural organisation in Canberra and has an international reputation in delivering world-class exhibitions and public programs. We advocate for the professional craft and design sector at all levels of government and engage in local, national and international dialogue that encompasses the breadth of professional practice, research and innovation, new technologies and trends, industry and micro‑enterprises.
