Letter from the owners

October is a month full of mystery, traditions, transitions and in some manners stigmas for Costa Rica . As we come out of Independence Month where Costa Rica just celebrated the bicentennial of its independence, we welcome October and all of its green season magic . What is traditionally the month with the most rainfall around Costa Rica is actually one of the most intriguing times to visit . The rain breeds life, the lower tourism figures breed serenity and value and it is a time when Costa Ricans and savvy travelers are able to explore and enjoy all of Costa Rica at a fraction of the price and with the beaches, rivers, waterfalls and amenities nearly to themselves . Halloween closes out the month and what was once an isolated celebration for a few expats, is slowly becoming a celebrated family event in neighborhoods all around Costa Rica .

The Markets continue to be robust in their volume in all of our offices, and while the total number of tourists visiting is lower during October, the sales and amount of closings is actually almost nearly the same . So many travelers come to visit on vacations during the winter or summer months and their love affairs with Pura Vida are born during these initial visits . Eager to understand what the “rainy” season is like, many return with more focused investment minds during September and October to see what the mystery is all about and skeptical about what this rainy season will mean for their experience . What they discover, is what most locals keep as our best secret… . .The rainy season months are AMAZING . The vibrancy of the jungle, cooler temperatures and lower tourism density highlights all that most visitors are seeking in Costa Rica and most once skeptics coming to vet investments during what is supposed to be the “bad” time of year leave more enamored and committed .

While inventory is low, pricing here as not spiked as it has in many other destination markets so the savvy buyers are moving on the opportunities up and down the coast before greater scarcity inventory starts to drive pricing northward in the coming season . Its not too late, flights are cheap, hotels and villas have space . . come and experience October for yourself .
