ABOUT US 2faced dance company produce a range of innovative touring performances for children and young peoplE. established in 1999 we are one of the uk's leading contemporary dance companies. We have developed an outstanding reputation both nationally and internationally for delivering excellent education and participatory work. Teaching inclusive workshops, the company works with nursery, primary, secondary, pupil referral units, SEN departments, and hard to reach communities with a core aim of improving young peoples' health and wellbeing.

the pRODUCTION Inspired by Hans Christian Andersen and re-imagined by 2Faced Dance Company. A new dance and circus performance for little ones and their families. Alone in the world and scared of the dark, young Jack opens his bedroom window to find a familiar friendly face, The Moon. The Moon shinning bright, teaches Jack how to be brave by taking him on an amazing adventure across the world, showing him all that he sees and teaching him all that he knows. Recommended Age: 3 - 8 but enjoyed by all ages! For the ultimate adventure come dressed in your pyjamas! DURATION: 45 mins (no interval)

WE HAVE RE-IMAGINED HANS CHRISTIAN ANDERSEN'S WHAT THE MOON SAW FOR THE STAGE. LET US WORK WITH YOU TO HELP BRING TO LIFE POPULAR CHILDREN’S BOOKS AND POETRY THROUGH DANCE AND THEATRE. OUR DANCE WORKSHOPS ENCOURAGE CHILDREN TO USE THEIR IMAGINATIONS WHILE ENGAGING WITH THE TOPIC FROM A NEW, ACTIVE PERSPECTIVE. WE KICKSTART THE DAY WITH AN ASSEMBLY FOR ALL THE CHILDREN TAKING PART. THIS IS FOLLOWED BY CLASS-BYCLASS WORKSHOPS OF
35 -45 MINUTES EACH, BASED ON

in the performance jack, with the help of the moon, brings his drawings to life by travelling the world to europe, asia and america. During our dance workshop our dance artist will work with your class to bring their drawings to life. dragons in china, sailing across the indian ocean and dancing on the rooftops in London, your class will be inspired by experiencing different cultures, dances and worlds. We use a range of techniques and music, and customise each session to suit the interests and age of the children. Each workshop concludes with a performance moment, when the children perform aspects of their work to each other and to their teachers.

we can work with you to create a bespoke workshop or series of workshops that link the themes from what the moon saw with your classroom themes. we can provide a dance workshop that enables students to learn about curriculum subjects through dance, encouraging creativity and curiosity
geography workshop: including rivers, mountains, volcanoes and earthquakes history workshop: focusing on the life of chimney sweeps in victorian england science workshop: looking at magnets, forces, balance, the body
The children will develop their individual dance skills and experience working together as a team. Children will develop, select and refine a range of motifs in response to the music and put them together as a sharing or performance.

FURTHER INFORMATION LENGTH OF SESSIONS - OUR SESSIONS start at 45 MINUTES and range UPWARDS. we recommend a system of rotation, so that all your students get an opportunity to experience the workshops. students can experience a full day, 3 day or a week long workshop (6 hours per day maximum). PRICING - our rates start at 250 pounds for 1 day. this includes 1 expert tutor and a free resource pack; providing the tools for you to lead your own workshops. (travel and accommodation, if needed, are extra.) SAFETY is important to us. That is why all our dance artists are fully insured, hold a dbs and undertake a risk assesment, putting your mind at rest. FLEXIBILITY - sometimes students need a new approach to an old idea, and we want to provide that opportunity. Thats why all prices and packages are tailor made to suit your schools need. please contact us if you need help securing the funding or would like to discuss how we can bring these opportunities to your students.. WHAT TO DO NEXT - please contact us by one of the means below. we will then require you to fill in a workshop booking form giving us extra information about your school and students. this enables us to prepare the workshop properly, ensuring you gain the most out of your day or week. we can also help you book 11 tickets to come and see our production, what the moon saw.
