Chinese New Year– To celebrate Chinese New Year we created a range of templates to support children as they write and research the event. There are six new topical activities including writing frames at two different levels, newspaper and poster templates, a canvas to document research and a template for children to practise writing Chinese letters. Safer Internet Day- To support Safer Internet Day 2011 2Simple worked together with Engayne Primary School, Penny Patterson at Havering LA and the LGFL E-safety team to produce seven KS2 activities. 60 Minute Mash-over!
Monster Mash Competition Ask your class to create their own monster using the textured paint projects. Email them to gemma@2simple.com and each month we will select a winning monster to showcase here. The winner will receive a home user licence of 2Paint a Picture!
Each month we will provide you with an inspiring lesson idea that you can use in class. This month’s lesson idea combines history with design and technology to create a Tudor village.
Step 1– Ask your class to do some internet research about Tudor style houses. Step 2– Log-in to Purple Mash and click on the Creative Tools tab. Then choose the 2Design & Make House option. Step 3– Using what they have learnt from their internet research, ask your class to create their own Tudor style houses by manipulating the shape and painting on the pattern. Step 4– Print out the Tudor houses and cut out the net. Then stick the houses together to create your own Tudor Village!
