SSgt Mathew Brown
As NCOIC of the Post Office’s Receive and Dispatch section, SSgt Brown oversees four personnel and the dispatch of 15,000KG of mail on a monthly basis, as well as coordinates transportation with both USAFE headquarters and British Airways representatives to ensure compliance with Global Trade, USPS, and DoD requirements. In addition to his already heavy workload, SSgt Brown also took the initiative to create innovative process improvements in his section. He created an Enhanced Distribution Label (EDL) board to improve not only the speediness of rerouting miss-sent mail to correct locations, but also saved 40 man hours monthly with this new process in place, avoiding any further miss-sent parcels. Not stopping there, SSgt Brown rearranged the entire Postal Service Center, allowing more open space for movement of postal personnel. This allows our Airmen to utilize the Wing parcel notification system to its fullest extent. Finally, he recently supported a Staff Assistance Visit to our Geographically Separated Unit at Papa Air Base in Hungary, vastly improving Postal Operations for the members of the Heavy Airlift Wing and Air Force Element.
