Tasked in 2019 to lead this year’s Easter Egg Hunt, the Youth Programs team jumped at the opportunity. With plans for photo booths, giveaways, games and a visit from a special bunny their excitement was crushed by the virus, physical distancing, and lockdowns. Instead of packing up and throwing in the towel, the team refused to let a worldwide pandemic take egg hunting away from Wyvern Nation. Led by Ms. Hannah Harding, our FSS Youth Programs Coordinator, our team adjusted and developed a plan to take Aviano’s Egg Hunt directly to our families. Supported by our MFLC partners, Hope Conner, Diane Seufer, Brooke Cecil, and Brittany Rodriguez (with the a little help from the Easter Bunny) we came together to distribute over 8500 eggs to over 800 children with only one request… that they have a great time hunting for eggs at home with their family! Ms Harding shared, “I can honestly say that their only motivation was putting a smile on the faces of the kids they love … I am beyond proud of my team and their passion and willingness to serve our military youth!” This teams efforts, successfully provided our community a sense of normalcy on a holiday they all had been looking forward to for months.
