Team: Resource Management

3

The Resource Management Team expertly manages $2M in appropriated funds and $4M in nonappropriated funds (NAFs), ensuring the 31 FSS has the resources to provide worldclass customer service. The team is comprised of various sections managing the squadron’s finance operations, computer assets, vehicles, equipment, as well as NAF purchasing and the Home Fuels Program. A true team in every sense of the word, they have made a made a commitment to give back to the community through volunteer activities. Examples include hosting Pordenone Hospital long-term pediatric patients for a visit to the 31 CES Fire Department and a visit with Santa, a clothing drive for those in need, a holiday meal prepared for the “Via Di Natale” (Aviano Cancer Research Hospital’s Hospice facility offering support for family members), and donating six interactive tablets to the Pordenone Pediatric Hospital to help ease young patients’ anxiety and make the visit less traumatic. And most recently, the team created an elaborate dessert display at the 31 FW “When Duty Calls”deployment dinner, featuring over 200 cupcakes. Thank you, Team Resource Management!

Sayako Smalls (CDC) Ms. Sayako Smalls has waved a magic wand to make great things happen at Aviano’s Child Development Center. She is a woman of many talents and values “face-to-face” contact in finding a way ahead. The CDC atrium area was recently a catastrophe as a result of training areas being closedout in a recent DoD inspection. Ms. Smalls took on the project, resulting in the award of a contract to resolve the space shortage and transform the atrium of the flight line CDC. As a result of her tireless and heartfelt dedication, the new training area is underway, making the CDC a better place for staff and customers alike. 12
