“When we emerge, we appreciate what we have more and know what can be left behind” – Phillip Lim The 0.4 Collection from 3.1 Phillip Lim continues to reinforce what is essential to life and the modern woman’s wardrobe: combining functionality and texture in essential pieces with a touch of glamour. The collection epitomizes a refreshed and reenergized new state of mind as wardrobe essentials take on a modern twist, incorporating textures and glimpses of 70’s rock and roll to entice the senses. Nostalgic textures of corduroy suede, flocked floral lace and paillette sequins on embroidered chiffon are reintroduced in feminine and versatile silhouettes, for a playful winter reverie. The seasonal hunting print pattern is a playful derivative of the classic horse and hound conversation, reimagined from vintage textile discovery. Realized in a delicate twill for the pleated skirt with paneling, modern shirtdress with adjustable collar and a new vintage shirt silhouette. Utility is key for outerwear this season as timeless functionality and sporty comfort come together in a 3 in 1 hunting jacket, a classic parka with puffer liner. Hand embroidered detail adds texture to the 50’s style couture car coat with detachable hood. Delicate detail with high function continues in the corresponding trouser with a sporty cut in technical cotton faille and contrast cuff. Continued evolution of suiting combines structured twill tailoring with relaxed modern silhouettes in solid and woolen
checked pieces. Heavy contrast topstitch, slit details and casual pockets reinforces effortless suiting that is contemporary and textural. Functional femininity remains a distinctive theme throughout the collection with a renewed approach to knitwear, focused on comfort and visual sensory details. Lofty ribbed men’s style cardigans are balanced with delicate lace sleeve detail and complementary neck warmers with slit detail for a seamless, cozy look. Lightweight alpaca lace knits in sky blue and plaid pattern are modernized by racerback detail as well as chunky wool knits with ribbon tie back feature. Fitted ribbed wool continues to evolve this season, characterized by uniquely feminine and functional details in a marigold dress with scooped back and tie detail and knitted crop top with detachable hem feature for artful layering. Each season, moving toward a sustainably balanced collection remains a focus, continuously integrating sustainable elements for a longevity wardrobe. Lightweight vegan leather returns in a playful cutout halter top, gradient sunburst pleated skirt and culottes with subtle pleating in warm olive and eggshell. The 0.4. collection also incorporates recycled wool, chemical-free certified polyester and BCI sustainable cotton in the wide wale corduroy pieces for everyday utility dressing. Accessories play with nostalgic textures and proportions in both new styles and updated classics. The accidental messenger bag returns in an oversized maxi style in smooth glazed calf with feminine front pocket detail and knot
shoulder strap. It joins the updated mini croissant bag in waxed glazed calf with a chain or matching shoulder strap. Corduroy suede’s nostalgic entry into the collection continues in the Pashli and Alix mini styles, featuring mustard, olive and saddle colors as well as Tess square toed mid and tall boots, also in corduroy. The classic Kate boot with lug sole returns in a new oxford lace up in both smooth and box calf leather, featured in dark olive and saddle. The Brigitte ankle wrap twisted sandal makes a debut this season in both satin and soft nappa leather, with subtle cues of femininity.
