He has such pride when talking about his firm at AB He shares with me that this local firm has been successfully operating in Lafayette for over 30 years. The firm is made up of six attorneys, including Matt. The other members of the team are Phil Boudfreaux, Mitch Landy, Jean-Paul Coussan, Sara Szuschlag and Chris Aafeman.

I was so curious to know what the role of a Title Company does for our future home buyers, and what really separates this Title Company from the others found here in 337 I would think that would lie in the details and human connection, and I was right in thinking so.

Their main role in the home buying process is to run all the transactions back to when the home had been purchased They make sure that the current owner is saying what is correct and make sure that the successions have been done correctly and zero liens or judgements are involved with the property.

He tells me –

“If he had to represent someone, it would be the lender, as they are the ones putting the money on the line.” He then, after diving in on the research, can let the buyer, lender, and realtor know they are in the clear and there are zero debts on this property. This is followed by notarizing the documents. “Crossing all the T’s and dotting all the I’s ”

Matt says that Real Estate Attorneys are problem solvers “The lender may need something done one way, from the seller to the agent all needing a specific thing done for the purchasing agreement where everyone is protected.” The goal – selling this home.

Matt shares,

Matt does things differently– “I want them to feel like they know me and I am truly here for them. I give them my card with a cell and email and let them know I am a call away with any legal questions.”
