The never ending creativity of Chef Devan's food was not lost on the guests. Our third course was a Louisiana surf and turf made of blackened wagyu coulette, with grilled gulf shrimp, crispy eggplant and creamed shishito peppers. It was truly a farm to table dinner experience with Chef sharing he shopped at the Lafayette Farmers market for provisions for our meal. We started to shift to a Gamay Noir red wine from Division Wine- Les Petit Fers. The second recommendation from the Willamette Valley, Oregon.

Our secret supper ended with a bourbon and coke beignets topped with bourbon whipped cream, served in a rocks glass. The Wild Child team’s closing pairing did not disappoint, with a Niepoort LBV Porto from Douro, Portugal.

By this time we had all developed a connection with the musicians, marveling at their talents. The 11 other dinner guests at our table were talking to everyone. Walt invited everyone to join together for a fun sing along. After hours of enjoying the most delicious food and drink, sharing stories and laughter, the evening came to an end. We had to say goodbye to our very first secret Supper at Maison Madeleine, an experience that warmed our hearts and made us hope to be back very soon!

The drive home was filled with electric energy. We had encountered a rare moment in time that will stay with us forever. To create an experience of such an elevated level that connects people together, to food, music, history and slows time- A true one of a kind memory at Maison Madeleine.

We want to wish a sincere thank you to the kind and charming Walt and Madeleine for gifting us with such a timeless event.
