ABOUT US A J Gilbert (B’Ham) limited has been based on Buckingham Street, Birmingham for more than nine decades expanding and diversifying over the years. It has developed from a small presswork company equipped simply with hand presses producing metal labels from brass steel and tin. Through the war years, like many companies Gilbert’s were taken over for the fulfilment of Ministry of Defence orders, presently the business is still producing the humble embossed label, but now also manufactures more intricate metal stamping along with a huge range of promotional items, proof quality coinage and medals etc. The business has been in the Burns family for three quarters of its existence having been purchased from its founder by brothers Horace and Herbert Burns back in the forties. Our present Managing Director, Mr. Tony Burns, has been at the helm for four decades and a third generation, Mr Nathan Burns, has been with the company for more than twenty years.
