On February 17, all Laveen schools participated in Digital Learning Day. Over 240 teachers across the district conducted Digital Learning Day activities. This nationwide celebration began in 2012 as a way to highlight technology use in the classroom, recognize innovative teachers, and share technology programs that improve student achievement. Digital Learning Day promotes the effective use of modern day tools to improve the learning experience in K-12 public schools. Laveen schools were asked to submit a Digital Learning Day documentary to highlight this event at their campus. Videos can be viewed on our website, www.laveeneld.org.

Henderson sponsors the LEGO Mindstorms Robotics Club and received the Adult Henderson Miller Coach/Mentor Award from the organization. Miller was nominated for building strong relationships with students and staff. She created, and now leads, the Diamond Girls Club.
