Trailside Point students help out at food bank

Six Cheatham students competed in the mathleague.org competition and took 2nd Place in their division and 3rd Place overall. Congratulations to our Cheatham Mathletes: Kiara Ince, Ryan Neisch, Xavia Roberts, Cherece Carter, Virgil Hartman and Kevin Nguyen. Club sponsor is Ms. Carrie Taylor.

Trailside Point's Wake Up! club members spent some time over Fall Break preparing food boxes at St. Mary's Food Bank Alliance. The Wake Up! club is sponsored by community block watch organizations and Phoenix Police to teach social and personal responsibility, community pride, life management skills, and conflict resolution. School Resource Officer Jason Groen leads Trailside’s Wake Up! club.

Rogers Ranch Choir performs at Greater Phoenix Honors Choir A select group of Rogers Ranch 7th and 8th grade choir students participated in the Greater Phoenix Honors Choir held at Trevor Browne High School in Phoenix. They joined other middle school and high school students from across the city. The two-day event consisted of rehearsals and sectionals. The students attended workshops on vocal technique, rhythm, and sight singing. Middle schools performed three songs before joining the high schools for one last song. Mrs. Tina Mong is Rogers Ranch’s choir teacher.

Phoenix Rising players visit Paseo Pointe

Students clean up neighborhoods

In celebration of Red Ribbon Week, Paseo Pointe School held a “Team Up Against Drugs” themed day where students could wear athletic apparel. Two players from the Phoenix Rising soccer team visited the school. Amadou Dia and Saad Abdul-Salaam talked with students about the importance of staying drug-free. Red Ribbon Week is a national program that encourages youth to say “no” to drugs.

Students from around the district have been participating in neighborhood clean up service projects. Six groups of Cash students volunteered their time on Saturday, October 22 cleaning up the Cash community. The annual Cash Community Clean Up is sponsored by the City of Phoenix and the Sky Harbor Coalition. Trailside Point’s National Junior Honor Society cleaned up six neighborhood parks on September 29.
