Montage Montage, a French word refer to splice, was originally an architectural term, means compositon, assemblage and a method intentionally collage time and space . It developed into a theory of film combination. Montage sequeces often combined numerous short shots, which cause association in observers mind and creat the whole story. Benard Schimi introduced the thory of architectural narration based on the predecessors’ practice. Since then, architects made efforts to be story tellers intensionally , creating architectural plots. The concept of ‘Montage’, which was extended and developed in the film making industry, and when we put this word back to the architectural context, it provides much food for thought and futhur understanding. As it refers, observers can associate through spacial sequences created by architects. Spaces compose in different order express diverse feeling. Imagine that people switch in voids under different pressure, which are interweave and extended, they would possibly associate infinite narration. Every single architecture contains its emotion, and worth observers to understand and discompose. To be spcific, when it comes to architectural design, the explanation of narration, including multiple contrary elements, large - small, high - low, far - close, rough - glossy, private - public, void - solid, death - life, etc. The elements compose and echo, would creat endless possibility, and design comes into live. The portfolio is the selection of the works from 2015-2019, which probe into the thinking mode of ‘Montage’ under the context of architecture. The ‘ City graden – community center’ is a collage of natural Utopian of chinese people in the high density city, which constructs a space for seclusion in stessful city.’Mapping light – photography museum’ is a cutting between two conflict areas with tourisim and residential area, which makes efforts to sew the border. ‘Overlace – a renovation house fot a family’ is a combination of traditional craftsmanship industry and daily life, saving the succession of traditional heritage. The application of ‘Montage’ in architecture is infinite when the context changes, which is a thinking mode breaking up the whole parts, each of the part has relationship with another, and reciprocal causation. Architects are not only directors, but also magincians, play trick on walls and manipulate the void. There is no need to create a rabbit, Put the magic hat and rabbit in the right place, the observers would create magic themselves.

faraway
In Shuowen Jiezi (literally: 'Explaining Graphs and Analyzing Characters') , Yuán was originally composed of a character ‘faraway’ within a ‘yard’. For the citizens, especially those literatus, ‘faraway’ is the Utopia of natural landscape. Building the Utopia inside their yard literally called Yuan.

Prototype research - The layer of entity
In my view, architects are just like the magicians. When the audience walk into the yard built by them, the trick begins. Images of ‘faraway’ come out from architects’ magic hat, within which, we will see the Utopia. The methodologies of building ‘faraway’, can be summarized as ‘creating layers’. Once human’s vision be overloaded by the complexity of layers, the edge would be neglected, and ‘faraway’ comes out. The complexity of layers can be realized in the following three ways. a The layer of narration b The layer of space c The layer of entity

In the Wu culture: the spirit of Chinese traditional culture of the unity of nature and man, the earliest "All around lotus, three-sided lake, one city, halfcity lake", is also the basic logic of modern gardens (high-density areas, gardens as the city's lung), nature ideally combinate with the city.

THE LAYER OF SPACE
Distance perception refers to the observer's perception of distance between himself and the target object or between two objects by using various clues to estimate the distance of the target object in the environment. Compared with the visual image of objects, the human retina is basically two-dimensional plane, that is, the visual image of objects is flat on the retina without depth. Due to the physiological structure of the human eye, factors affecting distance perception include object overlap, air perspective, light and shade, and line perspective. When judging the depth and distance in garden space, the superposition relationship between object and reference is observed. Paying attention to the priority of objects in the field of vision and the state of visual is overload, would proprably lead to the human brain making mistakes in deep cognition The definition of the layer of space is, multiple spaces can be identified from the same perspective. The garden is the combination of several units in the nature, so the observers can recgonize several spaces through the process of ' Inside - outside - inside- outside...' , lead to the overload of vision.

THE LAYER OF ENTITY
The definition of the layer of entity is, multiple visual elements can be identified from the same perspective. Visual elements includes windows, hollow-out wall, wall, pillars, rocks, plants etc. Under the context of entity, the layer can be constructed in a single space. In this part, I specially pick a group, including two units, to express how I construct the layer of entity.

SUSTAINABLE TECHNOLOGY A Cooling water systerm of the gardern
In this garden, the concept of sustainability is not about how much energy can be saved, but about how to provide a more comfortable feeling in a building without air-conditioner where visitors constantly switch between indoor and outdoor. "seven stars drainage" ,an architectual technology originally from South Fujian province is referred in this case, making full use of rainwater and the theory of thermal pressure ventilation in the patios. Patios are necessary element which can adjust the temperature in the architecture. Rainfall import collection to patio underground reservoir, moisture volatilize away building heat, at the same time, the roof absorption of solar radiation, forming convection between hot and cool air. With the wind convection in city, the whole systerm create a plesant wind speed in the building. To ventilate and cool the building. The following three levels are displayed: cooling water system of the whole gardern, patio ventilation system and ventilation section.

Media - Digital Camera with Prime lens 50mm ( Closest to the focal length of the human eye ) We select the junction of two boundaries as the site, and expand outwards with a radius of 50m, which can expand 150m in total. Three axes radiate out the axis of 15°, forming 12*3=36 intersection points. In the field of view, the points where the site can reach the line of sight and the construction intersect as visual boundary are selected for photography, and the parameters are set as ISO100, f3.2, 1/640 and ISO100, f8, 1/640 respectively. Six scenes without repetition are obtained, with a total of 12 photos. The difference between the photos in the same scene lies in the exposure degree and random elements, which are scene A,B,C,D,E and F respectively. Elements were extracted from the 12 photos selected above to obtain the composition line, light and shade, random elements and focus.

With the principle of light conduction analyzed above, the shape and position of the light column are fine-tuned to guide the audience's view and path through the light imported from the side. In Understanding Media:The Extensions of Man, an interesting metaphor of "sailor's rescue" by Allan POE is quoted in the book: the sailor is caught in the whirlpool of the sea, and the only way to save himself is to calmly observe the dynamics of the whirlpool and then follow the trend.Similarly, we do not intend to fight against the media environment where the surging capital forces are mixed together. The greater attempt is to "reveal" and place the ‘audience’ in the center of this vortex, so that they can finally truly ‘see’ the unstoppable scene in which everyone is involved.
The light and shadow parts of the photograph generate the inside and outside of the building, forming the top. The random objects of the photographs form some places for exhibition and rest.
The focus points of the photograph form volumes importing lights from the top.
Using glass to seperate the light and dark parts of the photograph generate the inside and outside of the building.
