In 2011 I launched 44 Bikes, LLC. From the start I've offered both road and mountain bikes in steel exclusively. As the bikes began rolling out the door, there was a constant question: "Do you offer Titanium?" So in 2012 I made a few test welds. Immediately I knew that I needed to seek out experts and begin the long learning process of working with Titanium. Slowly over time I had to rebuild much of my tooling. Hundreds of hours have been spent machining tools specific for the rigors of working with Titanium. Not until 2016 did I have all the foundation in place to finally begin producing prototypes. The Huntsman Ti has been a long time coming to say the least. What follows is a record of that journey of tool making, prototype building and problem solving.

ABOUT THE BUILD Paths less traveled. Directions unknown. Lost and found. "Road� is a relative word. This is the bike that gets you out there and back again before the sun sets. In my neck of the woods, not all roads are paved. So I build my road bikes for versatility: plenty of clearance for big tires, room for fenders, room for mud, room to shred. The Huntsman is a great example of a road bike built to handle just about anything you can throw at it. Stable at speed, with quick and responsive handling; it climbs as well as it descends. Take the bike out on group rides or head out on a Friday or Saturday after work for a nice long solo ride to unwind from the work week. You know that road you keep passing on your way home from work?
