My entire potfolio is developed and continued by an architectural narrative, so call it perception under narrative.
In exploring diversified creations of architectural space, I came across Bernard Tschumi who describes the components in a building as continuous plots in a movie, and they together make up the narrative of the building. He also advocated that architecture “can no longer be simply a way of organizing spaces, but a modality of experience and a way of living.”His thinking led me to the fact that human experience is no less important than function delivery. The idea is replayed in my first project of the portfolio.I took techniques in filmmaking to enliven the spatial narrative. I extracted specific elements in the movie and interpreted them into spatial language, abstracting entering a building as entering a story: a sequential passage through the parts of the building, like a continuous plot in a film, which together form the story.
With such a narrative, believe that architecture is a complete and continuous spatial language. Therefore, through the inspiration of "narrative", I have been trying to analyse the inherent relationship and chronology of architectural space, so as to improve the quality and enhance the atmosphere of architectural space.
In this portfolio, am a relationship builder, connecting the emotional bond between the people and the surrounding environment;I am a storyteller, telling a story in the spacial language; I am a narrator, recounting the historic and contemporary events contained in the place; I am a dream builder, bringing the Utopian illusions alive; am also an artist make spaces and artworks blend together.
As an architect, I sketch the vision of the future architecture,continue my study on architectural narrative, and wish to apply my theoretical training to real architectural. Practice and to deliver implementable projects that help solve social problems and creating a real emotional connection with people in the space.
