Section 1 Installation 1-1. Cautions before Installation The Hard Disk Drives (HDD) are installed in this unit. The HDD is a precision, delicate part. The causes such as shock, vibration and electro static discharge (ESD) to the unit, and the conditions of temperature and humidity may damage HDD or its data. Before installation, read fully the following cautions, and perform the installation with extra care. Cautions about shock and vibration When transporting and moving; . Pack the unit using the packaging materials specified by the manufacturer. . Use a vibration-less carriage. . Avoid rough routes, and manage the cart gently. When placing on a floor or table; . Put a cushion on stable and horizontal place, and put the unit on it gently. . Do not place the unit near vibrating equipments. For the unit; . Never hit the unit, and drop the tool on the unit. Caution on current condition . Turn off the power of the unit when removing HDD before installation. . Never give any vibration or shock for about 30 seconds after the power is turned off before installation. . Do not apply any current to the chassis in which HDD was removed during installation. . Return HDD to the former slot corresponding to the No. label before applying the current after installation. Cautions about rack mounting the unit . Mount in the rack after removing all built-in HDD from the unit. . Do not give any shock to the HDD-mounted equipment in a rack. Caution about ESD . Keep static-producing items such as plastics (air caps or others) away from the working area. . When touching the HDD unit, be sure to wear a grounded earth-band to protect against ESD. Cautions about temperature and humidity . Temperature and humidity of storage and operating condition must be kept within the correct specified range. . Never turn on the power with the cabinet is removed in consideration of the air-cooling effect. Cautions when an error appears in a HDD . Treat this unit conform to the above cautions, even when an error appeared. . Keep the unit in the condition in which the error appeared, and record the details of the error. LMT-200

In this unit, 4K CineAlta Log is mounted in advance as a sample DCP material and signals can be played back without GUI. n Do not turn off the power during operation because HDD is accessed during PB operation. This may destroy the contents of HDD. 1. Remove the front panel. (Refer to Section 1-5.) 2. Set switch S202 on the DP-455 board of the control panel to ON. 3. Turn off the power of this unit and then turn on it. 4. 4K CineAlta Log is automatically played back after indicator D110 (READY) on the DP-455 board lights. LMT-200
2-3. Life Management of HDD The HDD of this unit is consumable supplies. Therefore, the HDD must be replaced to maintain the internal data when it reaches the fixed span of life. In this unit, the life state f HDD is represented in the following five levels. . Level 1: Normal state (Ordinary state) HDD that reached the span of life does not exist. . Level 2: Warning level (The ALARM indicator on the front panel of this unit blinks in orange.) Normal projection can be performed. HDD must be replaced. One life HDD exists. The indicator at the top of this HDD slot blinks in orange or lights in red. . Level 3: Error level (The ALARM indicator on the front panel of this unit lights in red.) Normal projection can be performed. Two life HDD exists. For the two indicators at the top of these HDD slots, one lights in red or blinks in orange, and the other blinks in orange. HDD must be replaced immediately. The ALARM indicator on the front panel of this unit lights in red.
HDD whose indicator blinks in orange can be still used, but it almost reached the span of life. This indicates that HDD must be replaced. HDD whose indicator lights in red cannot be used and reached the span of life. HDD must be at the latest replaced before level 3 is reached. Notice that a serious hindrance such as data extinction may be constituted to the operation when HDD reaches level 3 or later. The ALARM indicator on the front panel of this unit comprehensively notifies various failures occurring in this unit. Therefore, the ALARM indicator may light and blink even if troubles other than related to HDD occur. Especially, each indicator state of this unit installed in the enclosure of a projector cannot be viewed from the outside. For example, pay attention during operation because all KDMs are disabled using the CSS (Cavity Security System) function of this unit when opening and closing the door of an enclosure to confirm an indicator. To monitor the HDD state of this unit from the outside of an enclosure, use the HDD-related menu of this unit in SMS. (Refer to the SMS manual separately for details of SMS.)
. Level 4: Error level (The ALARM indicator lights in red.) Level 4 is a state in which level 3 became worse. It is difficult to perform normal projection. In this case, it may be impossible to replace HDD. Multiple life HDDs exist. The two HDD indicators of them light in red. HDD can be replaced even in this state only when no bad spot exists in the sector of the remaining normal HDD (HDD whose indicator does not light in red). . Level 5: Error level (The ALARM indicator lights in red.) Level 5 is a fatal state in which level 4 became worse. There are also some cases where this unit cannot be started. The data in HDD is damaged. It cannot be recovered. Multiple life HDDs exist. The three HDD indicators of them light in red.
