IVECO branches out with new tree-planting initiative

IVECO has been a leader in alternative fuel vehicles for over two decades with natural gas and electric models helping fleets dramatically cut carbon emissions. Today IVECO is going a step further, pledging to plant a tree sapling for every new IVECO sold, even backdating this initiative to January 2022.

The entirety of IVECO’s capable and diverse catalogue of vehicles qualifies as part of the environment-boosting scheme.

From the versatile Daily to the flagship IVECO S-Way, all will contribute to what will be a vast program in collaboration with The Future Forest Company.

Every new diesel, CNG/BioCNG and LNG/BioLNG vehicle adds to a legacy of environmental benefits granted by a tree’s natural living processes. Even the new zero-emissions IVECO eDaily will add to its carbon-saving mission by also qualifying. The Future Forest Company plans to remove one million tonnes of carbon from the atmosphere by 2030. Its extensive UK tree-planting programme not only aims to improve air quality but also be a further environmental benefit by creating new habitats for wildlife to thrive. These new forests will greatly help restore essential biodiversity and protect endangered species.

“Work Hard – Play Harder”. The chassis in-fill, catwalk, susie frame, battery box and mudguards have all been colour coded to match the Nardo Grey cab.

Adorned with a special one-off livery the 150,000th vehicle features an airbrushed Lion on each side of the cab. Individual in design, the kerbside Lion is soft and thoughtful, pensively looking out into the distance, however, the offside Lion is in full attack mode with a menacing attitude and teeth bared! Each of the cab’s front corner caps feature airbrushed claw marks, which at first glance look like the vehicle has been mauled in an attack. The rear of the cab has also been airbrushed with a huge Lion’s head with and both the St Andrew’s cross and St George’s flags.

IVECO continues its own decarbonisation journey with the introduction of a classleading electric model - the eDaily - that’s also capable of towing up to 3.5 tonnes. The Daily, Eurocargo and IVECO S-Way Natural Gas variants are able to run on biomethane, a fuel that results in an up to 95% reduction in CO2 versus a diesel equivalent.
