THE ‘GO TO’ PLACE FOR ALL YOUR FUEL NEEDS

An ever expanding and innovative family-owned company providing a range of transport and other services, LCC is the sole supplier of GO fuels across the island of Ireland and the UK and although the company is headquartered in Cookstown in County Tyrone, it has a reach far beyond these shores.

Established in 1980 to initially provide domestic coal for homes in Northern Ireland, the LCC Group, headed up by Daniel and Michael Loughran, now supplies coal, oil, electricity, gas and logistic services to homes across the UK and to industry all over the world, with a multi million pound annual turnover, employing almost 400 people. Its competitively priced GO fuels brand is available 24/7 from a network of unmanned forecourts around Ireland, with payment accepted by cash or card, and last year it began an expansion programme into the UK with the opening of a new modern forecourt in Liverpool, all serviced by a 40 strong fleet of tankers.

“A fresh, contemporary concept, operating an unmanned forecourt means less overheads which, in turn, results in savings that we can pass on to our customers,” says LCC Group’s Eugene Hughes. “We are growing our network every year and expanding our tanker fleet; we have added 12 new vehicles this year, with more additions planned for the near future; it is a mixed, modern and highly spec’d fleet that includes Renault, MAN and Scania.”

All maintenance of the LCC Group fleet is carried out in-house, with Eugene planning well ahead for the acquisition of new vehicles and who liaises with his maintenance department which is run separately to ensure they can cope with increased numbers.

“Our Number One priority is to provide our customers with an unrivalled service, utilising only the best equipment, the best vehicles and the best people, always striving to be the ‘go to’ business for fuels. All our logistics operations are controlled in a central hub, with a high calibre of employees who work every day to go a little further in achieving the goals the company sets itself and to keep the service we offer at the highest level, whether it is a delivery of oil to a small household or to a big company or organization.

“We operate our own fuel terminals, our own tankers and our own systems, with no third party involved in any aspect of the business, thereby cutting costs to make our products even more competitive and more attractive to the customer.”

Those customers include the supply of aviation fuel to both Belfast International Airport and the George Best Belfast City Airport.

“We can react daily to customer demands and market changes as all logistics are being managed inhouse, and that gives us a big advantage and with plans to expand the fleet we are currently on a recruitment drive to add to the talent we already have working with us,” says Eugene.

“We also want to hear from anybody if they have a viable business or proposition as we are always open to taking on or exploring new ideas or ventures, including those who wish to establish an unmanned forecourt to join our network.”
